Joanna Arnold finished studying for a Postgraduate Artist Diploma and MMus at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2015, where she worked with Alison Wells and Jean-Paul Pruna. Joanna was a Gladys Bratton Scholar and a TCL Choral Scholar at the Old Royal Naval College Chapel 2013-14. Joanna is now working with Mary King. Joanna took part in the Mentor Scheme with the English National Opera chorus, in masterclasses with Joan Rodgers and Dame Felicity Palmer and has performed in many recitals at Britten’s home, The Red House, Aldeburgh and in London. Working increasingly on the oratorio platform, in 2019 Joanna has been the alto soloist in Messiah and Dixit Dominus (Handel) and Mozart’s Requiem. Solo engagements include Dido (Dido and Aeneas, Purcell) at Festival de Musique Valois, France, in July 2015 and Fenena (Nabucco, Verdi) with Brent Opera in 2018. Joanna greatly enjoys working in the chorus at Opera Holland Park where she performed in Iris (Mascagni), La Bohème (Puccini), The Queen of Spades (Tchaikovsky), Don Giovanni (Mozart), La Rondine (Puccini), La traviata (Verdi) and Isabeau (Mascagni). This year she is returned to perform in L’arlesiana (Cilea), Iolanta (Tchaikovsky) and The Rake’s Progress (Stravinsky) at the Aldeburgh Festival. She regularly tours with the Philharmonia Chorus and sings at Westminster Central Hall Methodist Church.
