Glasgow

I studied music as part of my B.A. (hons) degree at Queen's University, Belfast in the 1970's. Since then I have played the piano in a number of different settings - musicals, radio adverts dance schools, concerts, pop and rock bands. For the past 5 years I have elected to lead a solo existence playing at weddings, corporate events, private parties etc. Over the decades I have acquired a large repertoire covering a wide range of genres like Modern and Traditional Pop, Classical, Jazz, Stage and Screen, Scottish/Irish and Latin/Italian. Since I can both read music and play by ear I can respond to any individual request not currently in my repertoire. I can also provide top of the range musical equipment to ensure that the quality of the sound is first class,

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem. I'll adjust to suit. If it's shorter I'll make the appropriate deduction. If it's longer there may be a pro rata increase.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, on request if made in advance.

How much time do you need to set up?

45 minutes. This is a very important preparation towards a good performance.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes, as long it's in tune.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes. A minimum of 2 weeks notice is preferred.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My extensive repertoire is often commented on as is the quality of the sound system.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've probably played in every region of Scotland.

I was the keyboard player in a band called The Affordables who once played supporting act to the Ivy League, a top British vocal band.
