About Jewels Hartnell

Jewels Hartnell is well-seasoned in the art of DJ'ing, after first being welcomed as one of London's most exciting new school female DJs.
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Hartnell's taste for spinning eclectic sets makes her a perfect complement at many events. Old Skool R&B, '90s House Classics, Deep House, Funk, Soul and '80s Electronica are just a handful of genres used in her colourful performances, where she's more than happy to tailor her music to suit her audience. It all began after years of collecting vinyl, Jewels found herself armed with an impressive selection of records and a serious intention to develop began. Launching her first night at London's EGG Club, followed by her vinyl-only Old Skool ‘Spinage’ parties in Islington, she became a known regular on the underground scene. Now, just over 10 years later, Jewels boasts an elegant lineup of gigs playing for clients such as Diageo, Pandora, Mercedes, SEAT, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Amazon. 5 Star Hotel Bars, Luxury Resorts and International Residencies include top spots in London, Ibiza, China, Greece, India, Norway and The Maldives, playing a host of venues such as The British Museum, The Coral Room, London Edition, The Saint James Hotel, Pacha, Ibiza Rocks, The Mandarin Oriental Shanghai, Cafe Lilliput Goa and The St. Regis Maldives. And having had each of her co-productions signed to Audio Rehab, Krafted and Aperio, she lets the music do the talking.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The mix of genres I play, and flexibility to match music to my audience.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

EGG Club, The Aquarium, House of Wolf, Pacha, Cafe 1001, 93 Feet East, Fluid Bar, Nomad, Thirst Bar, Eagle Dinner, Horse & Groom, Ravenous, Soho Mansion, Jamm Bar, Westbourne Studios, Cherry Jam, Number 10, The Gallery, Kensington Close Hotel, Apartment 58, Public Life, Platinum Club, Raving Buddha, The Crescent Club, The Edge Club, Area, Covert, Paradise

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

That's difficult to pin down, I'm influenced by many artists across many genres. so I think I'd have to go back to my roots and instead of picking an artist, I'd pick the era which got me started in music, and that would be the late '80s and early '90s, Disco Pop, Acid and early House Music from Chicago and Detroit.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

A DJ residency on a private island called Vommuli in The Maldives - at the luxurious 5-Star St Regis Resort. The Lord of the Rings, Amazon Prime Premier at The British Museum.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I'll always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event please just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually set up about 1 to 2 hours before the performance time, depending on what the required set-up is. As soon as my PA is up and running I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for the DJ performance!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own DJ equipment. We can tailor the exact equipment you need depending on the venue type and capacity.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event!

Jewels has partnered with us for a couple of events (and if I find the opportunity many more). She's super easy to work with, helps set up the right way/adapts to plans on the day of the party - to get the best results. She got creative with a solution when we had to split the event into two locations and was super helpful and patient with. my many questions! We were a bit nervous with events after Covid and Jewels helped us work with that! A real pro at also fitting in with our culture and vibe. Thank you (Via Spin Sisters agency)
