The Jesus Four Quartet is a classical string quartet comprised of students at Jesus College. We are well-known across Oxford for frequent appearances at festivals, balls, and weddings. The quartet offer a diverse repertoire - anything from classical music to our own arrangements of popular songs - which can be tailored to include specific requests and to suit the atmosphere of your event. We take great pleasure in ensuring each performance experience is bespoke and high-quality. Our members have studied variously at the Royal Academy and Trinity College of Music, as well as a range of subjects at Oxford University. We really look forward to playing for your event.

The Jesus Four played at my 21st birthday event and were absolutely wonderful! So so talented, played perfectly in the ‘Bridgerton’ theme & were so professional - everyone was so impressed! Thank you so much, I couldn’t recommend more highly ☺️

The Jesus Four were a marvellous addition to our Medicine Graduation Ball a fortnight ago. They played a pleasing Bridgerton-style mix of classical and contemporary music to a very high standard. I'd definitely recommend them.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We bring excellent musicianship and sophistication to all performances. There's great chemistry between us, which we think can be heard in our performances). We're also super friendly :) We've been booked a few times for "Bridgerton" themed Balls and Birthday parties, for which we play some of the original (and fabulous) Bridgerton pop arrangements.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

- The Barbican - Royal Festival Hall - The Sheldonian Theatre of the University of Oxford - Numerous Oxford Colleges (Linacre, St. Johns, Magdalen, etc.)

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We're all classically trained musicians, and between us have a wide range of influences. As a quartet though, we are inspired by contemporary classical artists and groups like Nils Frahm and the Kronos Quartet.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

In Spring 2024, we were invited to play for the Chancellor Lord Vice Patton in the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford. Patton personally thanked us for playing some of his desert island discs!

Do you have different line-up options?

We typically perform as a quartet, but can alternatively be booked as a duo or trio.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We'll be as flexible as possible, to make sure your event runs smoothly. In the event of timings changing, keep me in the loop as best you can!

How much time do you need to set up?

We'll aim to arrive around an hour before the performance starts, to avoid any worries or hassle. This set-up time is included in all quotes.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely - we'd be happy to tailor our set list to suit your needs and your event's atmosphere. Otherwise, we typically choose songs that we think are suitable.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! We'll bring instruments, music, stands, etc.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Certainly - I'm happy to arrange up to 2 requests for the quartet prior to the performance (for free).
