Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. As sometimes I can get two booking on the same day (ie. one at lunchtime and one in the evening) please do let me know as soon as possible about any change in the timings :)

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and I actually offer this service for free!

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually set up about 45 minutes to 1 hour before the performance time. As soon as my PA is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for the live performance ;)

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests have an amazing time. However, I am definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own equipment and all that is needed for the performance :)

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If there is a special song you'd like me to learn I am happy to do this for you provided the existance of an High quality backing track and provided it suits my vocal range. There is a fee of £30 for this to take into account rehearsal times and the purchase of a HQ backing track.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My clients love the variety of music I can provide. I cover 10 decades of music from the 1920s to todays music as I love variety! And I sing most genres such as Jazz; Swing; Pop; Rock & Roll; Blues so there is really something for everyone :)

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

London Hoxley & Porter - Islington, London The Bitter Sling - Mayfair Peyote Restaurant - Mayfair, London

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

The great Jazz Ladies of the past such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan are a great influence. I however love many different styles so I would say Etta James and well as Freddie Mercury; Cassandra Wilson and Elvis and the list could go on and on :)

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I toured this year in Italy together with my 5 piece Jazz & Swing Jazz Band and we played in some prestigious jazz clubs and theathers.

Jess did us proud with her choice of songs and fantastic classy voice. It was exactly what we wanted for our event dedicated to WWII and to complement our 98 yrs old war veteran who gave a very entertaining talk before Jess sang. They went down a storm and Jess had the audience joining in whilst waving Union Jack flags. It was enjoyed by all with lots of positive feedback. Jess is a lovely lady and we would definitely highly recommend her.

Jess and the band were amazing, the perfect group for my party. They played two sets of vintage classics which fit the 40s theme perfectly. My children and I loved dancing to their sets and the older guests had just a much fun listening while sitting down.
