About Jessa

A versatile singer/pianist, with a huge range of songs from classic pop to folk/jazz/musicals, with live looping skills and heartfelt style.
Singer
York
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Jessa's flawless, effortless vocals , friendly manner and versatile repertoire result in a busy schedule of performing. She devises and performs her own one-woman shows in venues from theatres and arts centres to cafes and care homes, adapting and refining programmes to suit the audience. Venues have included Castle Howard, The National Centre for Early Music, the National Railway Museum, The Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York, Helmsley Arts Centre, and several of the Durham Fringe Festival Venues. Recent one woman shows have included 'Songbirds', 'Two bards and a songbird', 'Some Enchanted Sondheim', 'Keep Smiling Through' and a new show in progress, 'A Tapestry of Life'. For different events, Jessa can perform with a range of accompaniments, from live piano accompaniment to backing tracks or a range of insturmentalists to suit the occasion and venue. Jessa can even perform beautiful unaccompanied solos for an extra special part of a ceremony or event, and is experienced in singing outdoors or inside, whatever the venue. Jessa is an expert in layering her voice with a loop pedal, creating harmony and quite magical effects. Jessa is equally at home singing a classic Carole King/Carpenters ballad, a timeless folk song such as 'Ae fond kiss', upbeat 60s/70s hits, jazz standards, musical theatre songs old and new, and even her own original songs and arrangements. With a wide vocal range, she can learn your special requests for your event, and has a lot of experience working on events from weddings, funerals, anniversaries, birthdays, and christenings, to Fringe festivals and theatre performances. As well as performing, Jessa is an experienced singing teacher and singing leader and can offer singing workshops and audience participation elements to events when requested, allowing everyone to enjoy the benefits of singing together. Jessa has a warm and friendly style, combined with efficient communication, making her easy to work with to make the music for your event just right.

Jessa was excellent, we didn't have many people at the event, but she still managed to get them all to join in and singalong, everyone enjoyed the day, and that was mainly down to Jessa

To allow children to learn the lifetime joy of singing is a precious gift and skill, and no one does it better than this lovely lady. I call her the busiest singer in the county, which is true but ask yourself why so many groups and choirs include Jessa....answer is - they know how much she has to offer. Jessa was my first pick two years on the trot for a female lead at the RBL Festival of Remembrance in York for good reason.

It made our day extra special, the way you sang our favourite song so beautifully as we walked down the aisle. Our guests loved the selection of love-themed songs during the drinks reception too. Thank you for including all of our requests!

Jessa's Song list

Sister moon
My love is like a red red rose
Ae fond kiss
You needed me
Here comes the rain again
Miracle of love
Who's that girl
I have a dream
Love story
Ye banks and braes
Loch Lomond
Afton Water
Amazing Grace
Somewhere
When you wish upon a star
Somewhere over the rainbow
So far away
Top of the world
We've only just begun
Yesterday once more
You've got a friend
Will you still love me tomorrow
Beautiful
Something so right
Who's that girl
This house
Alfie
You're my world
Songbird
Fields of gold
I'll be seeing you
Some enchanted evening
Somewhere
Someone to watch over me
Let the rest of the world go
Look for the silver lining
Over the rainbow
Danny boy
Keep the home fires burning
Let the great big world keep turning
On a wonderful day like today
Magic moments
Will you still love me tomorrow
Side by side
When you're smiling
You are my sunshine
Oh what a beautiful morning
If I loved you
Send in the clowns
Thank you for the music
My love, my life
Top of the world
We''ll meet
White cliffs of Dover
A nightingale sang in Berkeley Square
You've got a friend
People will say we're in love
The sunshine of your smile
The boy love is up in the gallery
I'm always chasing rainbows
Someone like you
The sound of music
Roses of Picardy
Green finch and linnet bird
I wish I could forget you
Loving you
Summertime
Silent noon
Love's old sweet song
Til we meet again
Bless 'em all
When Irish. eyes are smiling
Joshua
Too many mornings
Losing my mind
Broadway baby
Climb every mountain
Edelweiss
My favourite things
Memories are made of this
Memory
It might as well be Spring
Knitting songs
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
Singas we go
Goodnight children everywhere
