Jens is a Swedish professional freelance bassist who is currently residing in Berlin. Before moving to Berlin, Jens was based in London where he studied a BMus degree in Contemporary Music Performance at Europe's finest contemporary music institution - the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. Initially, as a self taught musician, Jens studied a one year Higher Diploma course where his skills developed considerably and later on successfully auditioned for the degree course. Whilst studying such a broad course, Jens has developed stylistic elements and is comfortable playing in all kinds of different genres but specialises in jazz, funk, rock and blues. He has also developed a high standard of sight reading as well as learnt external skills such as afro-cuban percussion, keyboards, backing vocals as well as production, arranging and composing. As part of his final year, Jens also completed a Level 6 teaching diploma, which was awarded by one of Britain's leading music institutions, Rockschool. For the past year, Jens has consistently been teaching international students. Aside from teaching, Jens is currently involved in a couple of different projects - bassist and backing vocalist for up-and-coming Indie band Lapwings, as well as bassist for jazz-funk band Farbtöne who are both playing in the Berlin scene.
