Customer questions
What do your clients love most about your performances?
Clients often say they love the relaxed, professional feel I bring, and how I read the room well. I keep the music at the right level when needed, but I’m also happy to ramp things up and rock it a bit to get the party started when the time’s right.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I’ve performed at a range of well-known venues including Hard Rock Cafe Edinburgh, Turnberry, Edinburgh Castle, The Balmoral Hotel, Prestonfield House, Carberry Tower and Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
I’ve always loved guitar-led rock from the 80s, and that influence comes through in how I play. I also have a real soft spot for modern country music. Alongside this, I enjoy many styles, having studied a wide range of genres through research during my Master’s degree in Music.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
One of the most special high-profile gigs I’ve played was at Edinburgh Castle — it’s a truly unique setting and a real career highlight. I’ve also performed at T in the Park, and touring the UK with my own original music has always been a major high point for me as well.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
Timings can usually be adjusted, especially for weddings and private events. I’m flexible and used to working around running orders on the day. If anything changes, just let me know as soon as possible and we’ll agree it together so everything runs smoothly.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Yes, I can provide background music before and between my live sets using a playlist / iPod-style setup through my PA. This helps keep the atmosphere flowing and avoids any gaps. We can keep it relaxed or upbeat to suit the event — just let me know what you prefer.
How much time do you need to set up?
I usually need around 30–45 minutes to set up, depending on the space and access. I always arrive in good time so everything is ready well before guests arrive and there’s no disruption on the da
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
I work from a tried-and-tested setlist that’s proven to go down well. The songs listed give an indication of what I’ve played in the past. I’m happy to take guidance on style or mood, and with notice I can usually include specific favourites where they fit naturally into the set.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes. I’m fully self-contained and bring everything needed to perform, including my guitar, microphones, stands and professional PA system. I just need a suitable space and access to a power socket, and I’ll take care of the rest.
Can you learn song requests before the event?
Yes, with notice I can usually learn specific song requests in advance, as long as they suit an acoustic performance and fit the overall style of the event. I work from a tried-and-tested setlist, but I’m always happy to include special requests where possible to make the occasion more personal.
