About Jasmine

Jazz, Soul, Motown, RnB and Pop singer based in London and Bristol with 3+ years of performing experience in services and events!
Singer
London

Jazz is a talented singer based in London and Bristol, who has performed live across the UK from London to Brighton. With over 3 years of performance experience, Jazz is highly charismatic, versatile and entertaining, excelling in guest interaction and enjoyment above all! I specialise in genres such as RnB, Jazz, Swing and Soul, with a love for anything soulful! I am able to work as a solo singer, as well as with live piano or guitar accompaniment as a duo in order to fit your event perfectly, and am able to provide a PA system and all necessary setup myself. I grew up in a household characterised by music and the soul of the Motown era, always my father's favourite, which manifested itself in a love and admiration for the genre in myself. Similarly, with music always being big in my house, I've always loved staying up to date with the most recent pop and hip-hop songs, and always try my very best to do justice to these in my performances! I've been performing in choirs and music groups across the UK and globally since the age of 9, and first began performing solo in 2019, having been asked to perform live with a Swing Band in Brighton. Since then, I have been fortunate to perform the likes of Stevie Wonder, Etta James and the music of many many more of my favourite artists across the UK. So far, my biggest accomplishment was performing with a live band in the Brighton Royal Pavilion Theatre, which seats around 1000 guests. As much as I've always loved performing to a larger audience such as this, having also always been involved in musical theatre, which gave me my confidence on stage, through my experience I've found myself preferring more intimate events, where I feel as I'm performing for your guests, not just to them. The response of my audience and interaction with guests has always been of number one priority to me, and by performing at gigs in this way, I find I have the most fun performing, and my guests have the most fun listening! For my gigs and performances, I will arrive with full equipment myself and set myself up (normally need about 1 hour to 1.5 hours). I travel with the Bose L1 Pro16 PA system, and my own Shure microphone and mic stand, with all necessary cables and extras - all I would need from you is a space to set up and a place to plug it in! This PA system is able to project with expanded bandwidth and supreme clarity to audiences of up to around 130 people, perfect for small to medium clubs, bars, conference rooms and other similar venue types.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Above the music itself, I have found my clients love my engagement most, as interaction with your guests and audience as a component of the performance is what matters to me above most! I'm always keen on making sure that not only do your guests enjoy the music, but are engaged in the performance itself!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Having lived between London, Bristol and Brighton in the past 3 years in which I've been performing, I have performed in a range of pubs, bars, churches and venue halls spanning all three, as well as theatres such as the Royal Pavilion in Brighton and the Winston Theatre in Bristol.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My inspiration largely comes from the Motown, Swing and Soul era of the 1960s, in particular from artists such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Nina Simone. More recently, I find myself heavily musically influenced by the likes of Tower of Power, Lauryn Hill and Alicia Keys, through the creation of a soulful sound that truly resonates with my audiences.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

In 2019 I performed in the Royal Pavilion in Brighton in front of an audience of about 1500.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try to be as flexible as possible to ensure the smooth-running of your event. If timings alter slightly in the run up to the event, just contact me and I'll be sure to accommodate your new timings accordingly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely! If you have any particular genre/song requests to be included within this, it is absolutely possible, and in fact, a very popular request, which can be provided at no extra cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually require about an hour to an hour and a half for set up and audio testing, which also gives me time to greet you the host, discuss any last minute requirements, and provide a free playlist service to set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for the live performance

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely! I usually recommend a zoom or in-person consultation prior to the event to discuss any specific requests, particularly in relation to song choice, so that the set list is crafted directly for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! All instruments and PA systems are included within the set price guide

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Absolutely! Often a song that you may request may already be known to me, but if you'd like me to learn a specific song prior to the event, I am happy to do this for you, with a fee of £25 to account for extra rehearsal time outside of the approved set list.
