Pianists- Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Gene Rodgers, Al Haig, Bengt Hallberg, Víkingur Ólafsson, Christine Croshaw, Claude Debussy
Double Bassists- Leon Bosch, Scott LaFaro
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
Organ recital at St.Dunstan's-In-The-West, Fleet Street, I played ten pieces, starting with :
Buxtehude: Toccata in F, Bach's Adagio from Trio Sonata No.1, Mendelssohn's Prelude in D Minor,
and ending with Gigout's Toccata in B Minor. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv7vTwf3vIg
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
This is not applicable for organ performances that do not have a PA system. For solo piano, I use my Yamaha P525 which has its own speakers. When playing piano in really big venues or with a band, a DJ service can be provided for an additional cost.
How much time do you need to set up?
Organ: 30 minutes if I have not played it before, otherwise 10.
Piano: 30 minutes if solo, in small and medium venues. 1 to 1.5 hours if it needs to be connected to a PA for big venues or playing in a band.
Double Bass: One hour assemble Yamaha silent bass, connect to PA and sound check,
If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?
Yes, of course - as long as the piano is in working order and in tune, then I'm happy to play on it!
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
My set list is crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests are entertained and have a relaxing time. However, I'm definitely happy to discuss and make sure we find what works for your event.
Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?
Yes, absolutely! I bring my own Yamaha P525 stage piano and stand. It can plug into your PA if needed.
Can you learn song requests before the event?
Yes absolutely! My perfect pitch and Zygonic learning method means that I can learn new pieces very quickly.
