Jamie Parsons piano

Jamie started playing the piano aged 4 and threw his Beethoven after hearing Ray Charles in Harlem when still young. His playing is heavily influenced by the music of the south and he has spent a lot of time soaking up the New Orleans sounds as well as other related genres. He thinks music is either good or bad, whether it was written in the last year or last century, and as such some older songs with great rhythms and melodies are honoured and given the treatment they deserve in this band. His piano attempts to emulate the sounds of late greats like Dr John, Allen Toussaint and James Booker, as well as nodding to contemporary artists like Jon Cleary, Taj Mahal and Davell Crawford.
