We are a versatile piano and vocal duo bringing elegant, expressive and memorable live music to weddings, private events, hotels, restaurants and special occasions. Combining Ellen’s distinctive and expressive vocals with James’s versatile piano playing, we create a sophisticated live sound that can adapt beautifully to a wide range of events. Our repertoire brings together jazz, pop, classical, soul and timeless favourites, allowing us to create anything from relaxed background music during dinner to a more engaging performance for guests to enjoy. Our aim is to provide music that complements the atmosphere of your event while still giving your guests something memorable to listen to. We understand that every occasion is different, so we are happy to tailor our repertoire, performance style and set lengths to suit your event. Our repertoire includes a mixture of well-known songs and beautiful classics, with examples including Both Sides Now, Jolene, Your Song, Georgia on My Mind, Fly Me to the Moon, Ave Maria, O mio bambino caro and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. We can move comfortably between intimate jazz standards, soulful arrangements, popular favourites and classical repertoire, giving clients plenty of flexibility when choosing the atmosphere they want. For weddings, we can provide elegant music for ceremonies, drinks receptions, wedding breakfasts and evening celebrations. We can create a particularly intimate atmosphere for a ceremony or reception, with piano and vocals providing a warm and sophisticated backdrop as guests arrive and socialise. We can also work with clients to select meaningful songs for important moments throughout the day. For hotels and restaurants, our repertoire is particularly suited to creating a relaxed and refined atmosphere. We can provide understated background music for dining and drinks, while also offering more prominent performance sets when desired. Our flexible repertoire allows us to adapt the energy of our performance to the setting and occasion. We also perform for private parties, corporate events, functions and other celebrations, where we can provide a mixture of familiar favourites and more sophisticated repertoire. Both of us have a strong musical background and a passion for live performance. James is a jazz graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, with experience across jazz, classical, pop and other styles, while Ellen is a classically trained vocalist studying at the Royal College of Music in London. Together, we bring a combination of musicality, versatility and professionalism to every performance. We take pride in being approachable and easy to work with, and we are happy to discuss repertoire requests and the specific requirements of each booking.
