James Morrell

Beyond classical genres he also has interests in song writing and in composing for musical theatre. He has always been quick to learn and implement new concepts and I cannot fault his work ethic, his intelligent musicianship or his commitment and willingness to learn.

James is a competent multi-instrumentalist who is able to perform in a wide variety of styles, ensembles and settings. He has consistently worked hard to achieve a high level of proficiency across his instruments. Throughout the years, James has taken on a solo role in many musical projects, performing as a vocalist, saxophonist, violist and bass guitarist in a plethora of productions and concerts. He is not only exceptionally skilled, but also a reliable and committed musician, who is capable of performing advanced repertoire (with irregular/changing metres and complex tonal accompaniment) whilst delivering a musically-stimulating performance. I would always seriously consider using James in future musical projects, as he is a joy to work with and produces excellent results. James has a broad but deep knowledge of musical theory and an excellent understanding of musical notation, and is a competent sight-reader. He has a warm, friendly personality, a dedicated, committed nature, and highly skilled musical abilities.
