Jakob Grubbström b. 1986 has recently finished a Masters in Choral Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under the tutelage of Sarah Tennant Flowers and Neil Ferris. Having previously studied conducting and classical guitar at the School of Music in Piteå, Sweden, under the direction of Prof. Erik Westberg, Prof. Petter Sundkvist and Prof. Jan–Olof Eriksson. Jakob also holds a Degree in classical guitar from The Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He frequently performs as a chamber musician and soloist throughout Europe. In 2015 Jakob founded Cantores Amicitiae, an international vocal ensemble comprising of singers from England, Wales, Scotland, Sweden and Australia. The ensemble made their premier performance during a one week tour in Sweden last April. Jakob has been awarded numerous prizes and awards from Kempe Carlgrenska Stiftelsen, the County of Arvidsjaur, The Swedish Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music in Stockholm to mention a few.
