Jacqueline is a multi-instrumentalist based in Leeds, currently studying oboe and cor anglais under Janey Miller at Leeds College of Music. She was awarded the Alan Hawkshaw scholarship and second study bursary. Jacqueline was appointed principal oboe of the LCoM Chamber Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, LCoM Students’ Union Camerata and the LCoMSU Concert Band. As part of the LCoMSU Camerata she recently took part in their tour of Amsterdam in Summer 2017. Alongside her studies Jacqueline has taken part in masterclasses with Rachael Clegg, Melinda Maxwell and Hugh McKenna, and has recently had the opportunity to work with conductor Natalia Luis-Bassa. She has also performed with Leeds Youth Opera on their productions of Verdi: A Masked Ball and Puccini: La Boheme at the Carriageworks Theatre. She currently is also principal cor anglais for Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the LCoM New Music Collective. Before attending Leeds College of Music Jacqueline had already gained a lot of previous experience as a soloist and an orchestral player. She was principal of the Lancashire Youth Symphony Orchestra, under Helen Harrison and Richard Laing, and Lancashire Youth Concert Band, under Howard Lorriman. Jacqueline attended St Christopher’s Sixth Form where she gained her grade 8, and was awarded the School Music prize. She also had the opportunity to play in productions of Les Miserables, Cats and Phantom of the Opera. Jacqueline also studied piano with Janet Ismail, flute with Christine Lorriman, alto saxophone and clarinet with Hannah McCabe.
