I am Jacopo Bonini, I am twenty-one years old and I have just moved to London from Italy, where I spent most of my life and had my entire musical route. I started played Piano and Keyboards in 2007 and since that moment I never stopped; my musical studies were in two different Private (Local) Music Schools, with four different teachers, where I was taught from Classical to Jazz - Contemporary music, and I had the chance to range over several musical genres and different band lineups in the Ensemble courses. As said in the proper section, my first band was a Funk band, then, after other important experiences, under the influence of the records I used to listen to and of my Piano teacher, I came to my current favourite genre, to play and to listen to, Jazz. My first experience in this field was an annual Ensemble class in 2011-2012, then in 2014 I started playing in a collective (Officina Jazz) and in 2016 I built my own Piano - Double Bass - Drums Trio. My influences go from traditional bebop - modal Jazz (Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Hank Mobley) to contemporary (Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Cristian Scott, Hiromi Uehara, Avishai Cohen); in terms of pianists, my sources of inspiration are Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and also Fred Hersch, Brad Mehldau and Enrico Pieranunzi. In addition, in 2014 I and two dear friends created Intimate Sessions, a very relevant collective for me, in which another element of my musical environment had the chance to converge; in fact, the repertoire included not only Jazz standards but also Folk, Songwriting and Pop Music, that have never gone unnoticed to me (Italian songwriters like Fabrizio De Andrè and Luigi Tenco, and International ones like Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell have always been in my playlist). Relying on this experience, I also had the opportunity to help out other fellow musicians by taking part in music videos for auditions or contest (see the Media section). My last experience before moving to the UK was a Soul - Funk - R'n'b band with two friends I used to play before (Drums, El.Bass / Double Bass) and a female singer. With this group (Power of Four), and also with Intimate Sessions and Officina Jazz, I had the chance to play for several concerts during last year's and this year's summer in some venues in my hometown, while with BCC trio I had a gig in a Summer Jazz Festival in Cesenatico among the other gigs. I also regularly attend Jam Sessions and have played in a Resident Band for a jam session in my hometown.
