Acoustic music doesn't have to mean background music.
I'm Jack Wyllie, a singer and guitarist from Norfolk offering upbeat, interactive acoustic entertainment for weddings, parties, pubs and private events across East Anglia.
I've been performing live for years, both as a solo musician and as frontman of The Big Cheese – East Anglia's Brie-mium Party Band. Between the two, I've played everything from intimate performances and acoustic afternoons to packed pubs, weddings, festivals and large events.
My acoustic show takes the same thing I love about performing with a full band – getting people involved and creating an atmosphere – and strips it back to guitar and vocals. The result is something relaxed enough for a wedding drinks reception or afternoon event, but with enough energy and personality that your guests can still sing along, make requests and become part of the show.
The repertoire spans decades of recognisable pop, rock and singalong favourites, particularly music from the 50s through to today. I don't try to make every song sound like a delicate acoustic ballad either – the aim is to keep the personality and energy of the original while making it work in a stripped-back setting.
I can perform either solo or as an acoustic duo with Accompanying Harmonica, which gives the duo a sound you won't get from the usual two-guitars acoustic act. Harmonica, acoustic guitar, kick drum pedal and vocals allow us to completely rework familiar songs while keeping the setup compact and versatile.
For weddings, that means we can provide anything from relaxed music during your drinks reception to a more upbeat afternoon set where guests are singing along before they've even sat down for dinner. If you're looking for evening entertainment too, there's also the possibility of combining an acoustic performance earlier in the day with The Big Cheese later on for the full-band party.
