Jack Wilson

Hello! I’m a classically trained organist, pianist and choral musician, and the Organist and Master of Music at Belfast Cathedral. I began my musical education at St Columb’s Cathedral before studying at Queen’s University Belfast, gaining a BMus, and subsequently at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, where I completed an MMus in Choral Studies. I’m also a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists (FRCO). I’ve musical posts at St Columb’s Cathedral, Sidney Sussex College Cambridge, St John’s College Cambridge, Ely Cathedral and Belfast Cathedral, where I am currently serving as the Cathedral Organist and Master of Music. I have extensive experience performing for weddings, funerals, church services, concerts and civic occasions, as well as accompanying singers and instrumentalists. As a performer, I’ve appeared on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Ulster and BBC One, and have performed throughout the UK and Ireland. I’ve also featured as an organist on commercial recordings, and alongside performing, I’m an experienced accompanist and choral musician, regularly working with choirs and solo singers. I particularly enjoy tailoring music to the occasion, whether providing elegant background music for a special event, accompanying a wedding ceremony, creating a memorable atmosphere for a funeral or performing a more substantial concert programme. My repertoire encompasses classical, sacred and popular music, and he is equally at home at the organ or piano. I also have considerable experience working with singers and can provide professional vocalists where required, making it possible to create a complete musical package for an event. With a friendly and professional approach, I aims to make arranging live music straightforward while ensuring that the music itself is of the highest possible standard.
