Jack Manning

I have been performing as a solo artist for over ten years in the U.K, U.S and South East Asia. My passion for jazz, blues, soul rock and popular come through in my live performances, making them uniquely entertaining experiences for a range audiences and music lovers. My background was in teaching classical guitar and music theory which took me to Shanghai, China where I quickly became established in the thriving local Jazz scene there, performing regularly with a blues group consisting of two of Tina Turner's backup singers. While there I also performed twice at the Shanghai International Jazz Festival, supporting the jazz-fusion group Incognito. Upon moving back to Yorkshire I quickly cut my teeth playing regular gigs at pubs and working mens clubs, where I quickly picked up the classic repertoire of classic rock and pop numbers to win over any crowd! I graduated with a 1st class degree from the University of Huddersfield during this time, and recorded an E.P of original material. Playing in various rock, blues and jazz bands locally took me as far as the states, where I performed in Boston's famous Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues with the band Bravado Cartel. I was also able to play several solo shows whilst out in the states, having toured the north-east of the country three times now. I have played across the country since in a host of impressive hotel and wedding venues, award-winning restaurants, stylish bars and private events where clients have chosen me for my versatility and ability to do justice to a range of various styles of music from jazz, blues, soul, funk and swing to acoustic pop, R'n'b, Rock'n'Roll and classic rock. Every opportunity to perform is a special one, and I do my absolute best to ensure each performance is a memorable one for my audiences.
