What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know within 2-3 days of the event.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Absolutely. This is a really popular request and I actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, I provide this for an additional £75.
How much time do you need to set up?
I usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as my PA is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for my live performance!
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
My set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure I find what works for your event
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instruments to play acoustically or otherwise.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
If a song isn't included in my song list there may still be a chance I already know it. If there are two or three special song you'd like me to learn I'm more than happy to do this for you.
What do your clients love most about your performances?
I always make an effort to get to know my clients before the event and strike up a personal rapport with them to ensure my services best fit their needs. I am a very versatile musician and can perform something to excite guests both old and young - and I can range from heartfelt romantic ballads for first dances to lively numbers that get everyone dancing!
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I have performed at the Shanghai Jazz Festival two years running, O2 Academy in Manchester, Foxwoods Casino in Conneticut, The Hard Rock Cafe Boston, The Bitter End in New York City and Sherburn in Elmet Airspace to name a few! I've also played in countless hotels, wedding venues, bars, clubs and restaurants nationally over the last ten years.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
I have always been a big fan of American rhythm and blues music, so artists like Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding are huge influences to my style. I also cite Jeff Buckley, Prince, Lady Gaga, Elvis, The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Nina Simone as massively influential to my music.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
I opened up for Sugar Hill Gang and members of Grandmaster Flash at Tokyo's Nightclub to a sold out crowd of 300 people. I have also performed to several sold out crowds (600+) at Holmfirth Picturedrome, even singing the song "Halleluhjah" a-capella to a silent room!
