Joro are a 10-piece high-energy afrobeat band from London who formed in early 2016. Comprised of a group of experienced musicians from different genres who share a love of afrobeat and afro-funk music. They mix the sounds of the legendary Fela Kuti with their own originals and modern afrobeat to produce music you can't help but dance to. In August 2016 their version of the Fela Kuti classic Zombie was featured on US radio show, The Afrobeat Show with DJ Meredith. JORO have played several shows in London in 2016, including playing at the sold-out launch party for Nelson & Friends latest album ‘Anandiangambo’ in December, and their own headline shows across the city.

Joro played at our after (wedding) party in a field in rural Sussex in Sept 2019. The 10 piece band stole the evening and had everyone dancing for 2hrs to a full complement of brass, strings, drums and beautiful vocals- a fantastic tribute to the Afro-beat legends. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thanks to Jason for making the arrangements so easy.. W&S
