Iúnó Connolly Soprano Biography
British soprano Iúnó Connolly is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music where she studied with Lillian Watson and Jonathan Papp. Prior to this, she graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire with First Class Honours. She trains with Raymond Connell.
Recent opera, concert and recital engagements include performances at the Festival d’Aix-en- Provence; Opéra Baroque de Beaune Festival; Heidelberger Frühling Festival; ENO Lillian Baylis House; Bury Court Opera; Iford Opera; Symphony Hall, Birmingham; St. John’s Smith Square, London; St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London; Wigmore Hall; the Chipping Camden International Music Festival and Aldeburgh Music.
Iúnó is the winner of the Elena Gehardt Lieder Prize; the promising singer prize at the Dean & Chadlington Singing Competition; the Cecil Drew Oratorio Prize and won the Vocal Competition at the International Eisteddfod. She has been a RAM/Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Soloist; a member of the Academy's prestigious Song Circle and a Josephine Baker Trust soloist.
With duo partner Dylan Perez, she reached the semi-finals of the Das Lied International Song Competition in 2017. Iúnó is a Britten Pears Young Artist and a Concordia Foundation Artist.
