About Irfan Ahmed

Bollywood Singer Songwriter, Wedding, Birthday Party, Private Event. What ever the event, I have got you covered when it comes to live music
Singer
Slough
Public liability insurance of £100 million

Over the past few years Irfan Ahmed has proven himself commercially with the extraordinary success of two multi award winning singles “Lak Nu Hila” and “Soniye”. After signing a record label deal with Bollywood’s top brand “T-Series” Irfan reached the wider audiences of India, Pakistan and UK Asian music scene. But the Pakistani-born singer, songwriter, musician, and producer was also eager to prove himself artistically when it came time to release his second single for year 2019, B4U nominated him as the artist of the month and played all his previous releases in conjunction with recent music hits. Irfan took his first leap in to video direction and choreography, and decided to shoot with renowned film star “Sana Fakhar” as the main model. A meticulously crafted singer songwriter replete with sparkling melodies and sleek, danceable grooves, his work decimates everything people may think they know about this musical polymath, who has not only written, composed, and co-produced his own music, but also for other artists spanning a range of genres, including upcoming singers from Lahore, Amritsar and London, “Mo Khan” a London based signed music producer for “Universal Records” recently joined forces with Irfan for the production of “Lak Nu Hila” and “Soniye”, says — “Irfan is one of the very few artists that are capable of showcasing their strong vocal capabilities not only inside the recording studio but also on stage, where many lac in showcasing vocal pitch, range and voice control”. Irfan allows himself to truly be seen, not only as an artist but also as a human, which meant stepping out from behind the detached façade of lovelorn balladeering and being transparent about his emotions and influences. On the lyrical front, “Subha Hoi” is largely about Irfan’s struggle to find a way to express his relationship with his mother, who has always been there to support him in his musical journey as well as be the light in the darkness of his early childhood days. Irfan’s life has hardly been normal since his mother passed away. "I always wanted to use music as an expression to tell the story of my life and the struggles from Lahore to London, — losing my mum has affected my life in good and bad ways unimaginable," he says. “The first two singles — "Subha Hoi," and "Apna Safar" — cover that territory. "Whenever I met anybody who heard my songs, they often knew more about me than I knew about myself, after writing “Subha Hoi” Irfan quickly realised that he has to keep on moving forward and continue doing what him and his mother loved the most, " he says. "Apna Safar — is about the new beginning, it’s about a journey of life, because it’s not about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." — something Irfan addresses on self-acceptance anthem "Apna Safar," which opens with the following lines: "Naya raasta nai manzilain ab hain saath / Dhoondo agar, chalo dar-badar meray saath / milay ga yaqeen, vo manzil jo hai dill ke pass. After “Apna Safar”, Songs like "Lak Nu Hila," and "Soniye" detail different aspects of the rarified life of someone who feels like he should be enjoying the glittering lifestyle of fabulous parties and ample romantic opportunities, but just doesn’t, "I thought I was supposed to go to all these parties and be this type of person so I’ve always shoved my anxiety under the carpet because I didn’t think anyone cared to hear about it," he says. “This song touches on that, but I also wanted to make sure that my coming songs, at the end of the day, are more fun and commercial because some people choose not to listen to the lyrics. They just want to go to the club, listen to the beat, and have a great time. And that’s totally fine, too." Irfan, whose perfect pitch means he is often distracted by identifying the notes sounded by passing car horns and leaf-blowers, began playing guitar at age 13 and attended both the Punjab University Collage of Art and Design, (Lahore) where he graduated in Graphic Design and Goldsmiths College of Music, (London) where he majored in music production. At the age 15 he joined his first underground band “Spell Binders” and toured across the country performing for audiences of all age groups and cultural backgrounds, this did not only allow him to master the art of stage performance, but also a deep understanding of complex live musical improvisations as a band lead vocalist, to achieve his goal of making people want to “dance and cry at the same time,” Irfan, allowed his love for Pop and late ’80s/early ’90s classics to shine through, which upped the music’s sophistication level several notches. "I was influenced by artists who were proving something when they broke off from their groups," Irfan says, citing Ali Azmat and Salman Ahmed after Junoon, Atif Aslam and Gohar Mumtaz after Jal, Haroon and Fakhir after Awaaz!. "When Atif left Jal! he wanted to show the world that he could produce records like ‘Jalpari’ and ‘Bheegi Yaadain’ on his own," Irfan says. "He didn’t do it in vengeful way. He was just showing people how musical he was. That was really my goal as well." citing Junaid Jamshed after he became solo, backstage at a memorable concert where he shared stage with his musical hero at the glorious venue “Lahore cultural complex” ("I could never imagine I will ever be able to get a chance to perform alongside my idol, Junaid Jamshed! I grew up listening to his songs, always number 1 on the charts, it was definitely one of the best stage experiences I have ever had.") Irfan says. He then moved on to join his next major band Music Math, part of Jupiter’s Productions, to further enhance his expertise for live performances. His classical training is on full display, along with his impeccable influences — which range from Asian greats Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Nazia Hassan, Junoon, and Sajjad Ali to R&B and Pop songwriter-producers Michal Jackson, George Michal, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, and Robbi Williams. For all of his success, Irfan still sees himself as the kid from Model Town, who played guitar and sang songs in cafeteria when he bunked his lectures and made mixtapes for the girls at collage. "I still have the same deep infatuation with chord changes, girls, and food,” he says. "Nothing’s really changed. I still find myself to be a pretty humble guy. Every room I walk into I think I’m the worst songwriter and I have to prove myself. But it’s because of that that I get better.”
