Story / Media: During the first National lockdown a group of talented musicians and teachers from Essex, Suffolk and London collaborated to create the #LockdownCovers project, which was released online over the summer months. Rob Radley and Karl Younger coordinated the initial project to help promote the cause #LetMusicPlay and support the industry at a difficult time. The final video of the #LockdownCovers series signals the start of another nationwide lockdown. We would like to showcase the hard work that went into this cover version by promoting it to the wider public and supporting the fantastic charity YoungMinds.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

“We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-audititioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.”

Do you have different line-up options?

“Our line-up is as follows: Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Drums. We also have a 5, 6 or 7 piece options that include Trumpet, Trombone, female vocalist.”

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

“We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.”

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

“Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £120.”

How much time do you need to set up?

“We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!”

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

“Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event. ”

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

“Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 2m by 4m space to perform”

Can you learn song requests before the event?

“If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc. We will perform your first dance free of charge

Into the Sun were great and the responses from Rob were honest and accurate. The "collective" is a good business model, but does leave uncertainty as to who may be fronting the band. We did however have a few choices presented to us as Rob was already booked on the date we needed. The support and feedback from Sam was also honest and responsive, although most of the answers we needed had to come from Rob, so this additional line of comms was a little frustrating at times but understandable. All in all, the service provided by Sam and Encore was excellent and Into the Sun were top notch and we hope the band enjoyed the venue, booze and food provided on the night. We are happy to recommend Encore and Into the Sun for any future event, they were a big hit on the night! thank you.

We attended a 60th birthday party on Saturday 8th July at Thorpeness Country club, the band for the event was Into the Sun. The evening was a great success, the band were superb they had a great set list and had asked for a list beforehand of songs people wanted which was really good. They instantly get the ‘crowd’ going and the dance floor was filled, this was then the situation for the whole night. They kept signing hit after hit – the actual band performance was superb. A thoroughly enjoyable night I can not recommend this band enough, my dancing shoes were well and truly exhausted by the end of the night.
