Jazz fusion band
Jazz fusion band specialized in the 60-70 repertoire

Fusion, which is essentially a combination of jazz & rock styles emanated from the mid to late 1970's, through to the jazz funk era, which is still prevalent today in some circles. This style of music, 40 years on, has now become the "Modern Jazz standard" of today and was dominated by the giants of "John McLaughlin", "Herbie Hancock", "Chick Corea" and Weather Report, to name but a few and its these jazz crossover pioneers that have inspired our band, "Infusion" today. "Infusion" was co founded by versatile Bass player Russell Prett & virtuoso Pianist Stuart Brown in 2015 with the aim to replicate some of the iconic tunes of the "Fusion"era. Initially the band tried out different drummers and guitarists and settled in 2016 on Andy Gray an experienced south London drummer who seems comfortable and at home with all styles, plus the experimental Italian guitarist Matteo Ciminari who immediately imposed his distinctive improvised sound on the band.

From customers:

Some classic jazz fusion tunes played with gusto! The London Jazz Meetup found it fun, and there was plenty of recognisable favourites among the set.

Rob M

Nice to hear some Hancock and Corea in Penge!
