Jazz duo

Indigo Flow brings together the expressive sound of live saxophone, sophisticated keyboards and soulful vocals to create the perfect musical atmosphere for weddings, private celebrations and corporate events. Featuring experienced professional musicians Tim on keyboards and vocals, and Louise on saxophone and vocals, Indigo Flow specialises in smooth jazz, soul, jazz-funk and beautifully arranged contemporary classics. Our repertoire draws inspiration from artists including Grover Washington Jr., George Benson, Sade, Stevie Wonder, The Crusaders, Shakatak and Kenny G, alongside timeless jazz standards and carefully chosen modern favourites. Whether providing relaxed background music for a drinks reception, elegant entertainment during dinner, or a more upbeat performance later in the evening, we tailor our music to complement the occasion. Indigo Flow combines live musicianship with a compact, professional setup, making us particularly well suited to intimate venues, wedding receptions, hotels and stylish private events. Based in Cambridgeshire, we perform throughout Peterborough, Cambridge, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas, with bookings farther afield welcomed. Our aim is simple: to create a warm, sophisticated atmosphere with memorable live music that enhances your event without overpowering it.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our relaxed, sophisticated sound and the atmosphere we create. Combining expressive live saxophone, piano, keyboards and vocals, Indigo Flow brings a distinctive blend of smooth jazz, soul and jazz-funk to every occasion. We tailor our performances to suit the setting, creating memorable music without overpowering conversation.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Between us, we've performed in concert halls, theatres, hotels, clubs and aboard cruise ships, including performing together at sea. Tim brings extensive experience as a pianist, vocalist and session musician, while Louise is a Grade 8 oboist and saxophonist who regularly performs with orchestras. Together, we bring that experience to Indigo Flow.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Our influences include Grover Washington Jr., George Benson, Bob James, David Sanborn, The Crusaders, Randy Crawford, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Shakatak, Spyro Gyra and Kenny G. We love the warmth of classic soul, the sophistication of jazz and the irresistible grooves of jazz-funk, bringing these influences together in our own distinctive style.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Tim's career highlights include performing at the BBC Concert Hall, appearing on BBC national radio, session work with The Foundations and Billy Davies, sharing stages with Toyah Wilcox and performing alongside renowned blues musicians. His experience also includes theatres nationwide, major entertainment venues and recording sessions.

Do you have different line-up options?

Indigo Flow is a professional duo featuring keyboards, saxophone and vocals. We can tailor our performance from intimate instrumental jazz to a fuller jazz-funk and soul sound with tasteful programmed percussion. Our two-musician line-up remains the same, but the musical atmosphere can be adapted to your event.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We understand that event schedules sometimes change! We're happy to accommodate reasonable adjustments wherever possible. Just let us know as early as you can. Significant changes to performance times or duration may require a revised quote, which we'll always discuss with you first.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can arrange suitable background music through our sound system between live sets, subject to agreement in advance. We don't currently offer a full DJ service, but we're happy to discuss how best to maintain the atmosphere throughout your event.

How much time do you need to set up?

We normally allow around 60–90 minutes for unloading, setting up and soundchecking, depending on the venue and equipment required. We aim to have everything ready well before your guests arrive and can discuss earlier setup where necessary.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Our keyboard setup is stationary, so we normally perform from one designated area. Louise uses a clip-on saxophone microphone, which allows some freedom of movement where the venue layout and equipment permit. We're happy to discuss the best setup for your event.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Absolutely! We're happy to discuss your favourites and shape the set around the atmosphere you'd like to create. We also draw on our experience to choose songs that flow naturally together. Let us know any must-plays or songs you'd prefer us to avoid.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes. Our standard quote includes our professional instruments, sound system and suitable performance lighting, along with setup and soundcheck. Larger venues or unusual technical requirements may need additional equipment, which we'll discuss and quote for in advance.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We're very happy to consider special requests, particularly for weddings and meaningful occasions. With enough notice, we can often prepare suitable songs within our jazz, soul and lounge style. We'll confirm what's achievable and discuss any additional arrangement or rehearsal costs beforehand.
