About Immy

Funk, jazz and acoustic music for weddings & special events: old classics & modern faves. Warm, soulful grooves that bring the good vibes!

My performances aren't about turning up and doing a boring set. My aim is to create exactly the vibe you envisioned in your head, so that everyone is comfortable, having a luxury experience, and enjoying the music with no stress! I've been playing live music since I was 13 - solo and in bands - and sung at select private weddings and events for 10 years. Performing is second nature to me now. And I honestly love it. It's so much fun, and that means everyone else has fun too! Singing at weddings for select friends and family before ever calling it a job has shaped everything about how I approach this job. I was never a hired stranger in the corner, I was someone who genuinely cared about the people in the room. I still bring that same feeling to every wedding I sing at today: I care about how you want your day to feel, I'll learn the songs that mean the most to you, and I'm there to take stress away, never add to it. My years of gigging taught me how to read a room, adapt on the fly, and stay calm whatever's happening around me. I found my own sound listening to artists like Scary Pockets and Ben Howard: warm, soulful funk on one end, and stripped-back, heartfelt acoustic on the other. That range is exactly what a wedding or an event needs: energy when you want people up to loosen up, or beautiful space for people to soak in the moment. Couples I've sung for always comment on this. Becca and Josh said my music "added some incredibly special moments" to their day, from their ceremony song to a set of tunes close to their hearts, and that so many guests commented on the singing. Char and Jake told me my set "made our reception so much fun - there was a lot of dancing!" Flick and Mike, one of my very first weddings, said I helped create exactly the warm, relaxed atmosphere they'd hoped for. And Alex and Jas described a "joyful and bright atmosphere" that made their day even more special. Those are the moments I'm proudest of. On the practical side, I'm fully self-sufficient: I bring and set up my own kit, travel by car, and perform at weddings right across the UK as well as in Europe, which I absolutely love doing. Whatever the setting, my job is simple: happy people, beautiful songs, and music everyone can have a brilliant time to!

Immy sang at our wedding in August 2024 and we cannot recommend her highly enough as a wedding singer. Her music added some incredibly special moments to the day, from performing one of our favourite songs at the wedding ceremony to performing a selection of tunes close to our heart in the afternoon at the reception. So many guests commented on how lovely her voice was, and she was an absolute delight to work with – one of the friendliest people you could meet. Thank you so much for being part of our special day, we could not have dreamed of anyone better!

Immy’s singing honestly made our reception so much fun! People loved her voice and her songs. There was a lot of dancing! She was always quick with communication, cared about learning songs we loved, and on the actual day she was so calm. Honestly not sure why you’d book anyone else!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The joyful vibes and the beauty I bring to the songs. Clients talk a lot about the rich tone of my voice, the fact that I come across like I'm having the best time (which I am!!), and that there are no hiccups. It's just fun, beautiful and calm.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

For wedding singing, I've performed at the acclaimed St. John's College in Cambridge University and the award-winning Italian vineyard Di Sipio in Abruzzo. For other performances, I've performed in many amazing places, two notable ones being St. Paul's Cathedral, University of Oxford colleges.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

So so many! What a difficult question... For my jazz and funk performances, I would say: Scary Pockets, Rozzi, Chaka Khan and Olivia Dean. For my acoustic performances, I would say: Ben Howard, The Paper Kites, Simon & Garfunkel, and Boyce Avenue.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Tough question...it's not the profile that matters massively to me, it's the personality of the event. I would say a gig in Oxford called 'New Things' which was broadcast to hundreds of people both online and in-person. I sung two songs: my highlight was singing Billy Joel, with accompaniment by the pianist from the acclaimed band Green Bean Machine.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Let me know as soon as you know! That way we have the highest chance of making things run smoothly. I try my very best to make sure there are no hiccups.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I provide a plugged-in, Spotify service for the break between my sets, and as I am preparing to start. That's free.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually like to set up around 1 to 1.5 hours before, which gives me time to make sure everything's working perfectly, have a little soundcheck, and make sure my plug-in service is ready to go!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set lists (I have two different ones: one for funk/jazz, one for acoustic) are built from many performances, and I've chosen them all because I've found they work best to ensure the good vibes are flowing and everyone is having a wonderful time! I offer one specific song request for free! If you have several, we can certainly chat about that.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I do! I bring my own PA equipment, mics, stands, and my guitar, amp and lead if the set-list calls for it.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I know more songs than the one on my set list! So if there's a special song, please do let me know! I offer one song for free. If there are several then that's fine, but there is a fee of £25 per new song, to take into account rehearsal times, etc.
