I lovvvveeedddddd the string trio - Iliad Strings were so amazing! They played all our requests and even arranged some music that they didn’t have just for me and my mum. I loved that they had their song book ready to take requests for their variety sets and their themed programmes like Disney and Bridgerton.

Movie music quiz!3 musicians45 minutes
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to do a quiz with a LIVE music group playing your questions?! This package which we have enjoyed performing over the last 3 years on cruise ships involves a 30-45 minute movie music quiz, where we (the string trio) will play shortened versions of popular movie scores and its up to YOU to see how many you can name. We will bring all required equipment, and host the quiz - all you need to provide is the venue and a good crowd! We will finish the set by performing a few full length songs/tunes until the end of the booking.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients have said they love talking to us and listening to us play. One of our favourite sayings is “if we are having a good time, our audience will be having a good time!” This means that we are super careful to make sure that we enjoy playing every single song on our song list - all of our arrangements especially made with care and attention detail.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We met each other 10 years ago and worked together in various string quartets and orchestras. Just over three years ago we decided to form a trio and perform on cruise ships. We have played LITTERALLY all over the world - from the Royal Albert Hall and the Bridgewater Hall to small Caribbean islands you may not have heard of - we’ve done it all and loved it!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

One of the lovely things about string groups is their ability to play music from any genre. We love playing Beethoven String Quartets, Puccini Operas, Celtic folk music, jazz, Ariana Grande and just about anything in between. As long as the score is good (and all of ours are!) we will have a good time.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

As full-time performing musicians we’ve played for a lot of people. Individually, we’ve played for members of the British Royal family, on the BBC evening news and more, but sometimes it can be the more intimate performances to people who don’t usually get to hear live string groups that are the most special to us.

Do you have different line-up options?

It’s taken us years to develop song list that we are really proud of, therefore at the moment we are only available at the moment as a trio, but we are working on expanding into string quartet too!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

How much time do you need to set up?

We always aim to arrive at the venue 1 hour before the performance time. That gives us plenty of time to set up and allows for any potential travel disasters. We allow even more time when travelling further distances.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Of course! We love taking requests! All of our arrangements are of a very high quality - we don’t use random scores we find online. Instead we take the time to make sure all of our music is designed specifically for us. If there’s something you can’t find do let us know… we might be able to sort something out!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! We all have our own precious acoustic string instruments. In the unusual event that your venue will require further amplification we do all have high quality microphones, please contact us if you wish to discuss this option.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

We charge an arranging fee of £60 for something that isn’t on our song list. We are very proud of all our arrangements and can promise that we will we do our absolute best to make your special request as perfect as you imagine.
