Igor Baranovsky

I was born in Ternopol (Ukraine), where I began my musical studies with Professor Josef Polonsky, a student of David Oistrakh. In 1990 I entered the Lviv National Conservatory. During my studies I was a guest soloist with the Lviv Philharmonic and the student chamber orchestra. I have participated in numerous competitions and festivals such as the Student Chamber Music Festival (Graz, Austria), the International Festival of Youth Orchestras (Murcia, Spain) Between 1999-2001 I participated as a member of the first violins of the I Fiamminghi Orchestra (Belgium) having played in concerts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels and the Arena in Cologne. During 2002-2007, I worked as assistant conductor and soloist of the group of second violins with the International New Symphony Orchestra in Zurich, playing concerts in the Zurich Tonhalle, Lucerne KKL, Bern Casino Hall, Montreaux Stravinsky Auditorium. From 2007 to June 2022 I lived in Madrid where I collaborated with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Spain. As a freelance musician I also have a lot of experience in Pop music, traditional, especially Jewish (Klezmer) During my stay in Madrid I have played at many events such as weddings, birthdays, funerals, company dinners... Since July 2022 I'm living in London. I am currently working as a member of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Opera House.
