Hi! My name is Iratxe, I’m a 25-year-old Spanish singer, songwriter, pianist and music teacher, originally from Navarra in northern Spain. I recently moved to Manchester, and I’m excited to become part of this amazing city’s music scene while continuing to grow and develop my career as a performer.
Music has been part of my life from a very early age. I started studying piano and singing when I was six years old and continued my musical education in private music schools until I was 21. During those years, I developed a strong foundation in both piano and vocals, while also discovering my passion for performing and creating my own music. When I was around 17, I started writing my own songs, which eventually led to the release of my first album, Poor Thoughts, in 2024. It was a family-produced project and an important first step for me as a songwriter.
Since 2022, I have been performing regularly around Navarra and the Basque Country, mainly as a solo artist with my piano and voice but also as a duet with my sister. I particularly enjoy the intimacy of this format, as it allows me to connect directly with the audience and adapt each performance to the atmosphere of the venue and the people there. I like to create a repertoire that feels appropriate for each occasion, whether that means a more Spanish set, an international selection, or bringing in some Basque music and culture.
My repertoire is mainly focused on pop and pop-rock covers in English and Spanish, but I also love performing classics by singer-songwriters, especially Spanish speaking artists and female Spanish speaking artists. I enjoy discovering different ways of interpreting familiar songs and making them my own through my voice and piano. Although I love performing my original music, covers have always been a big part of what I enjoy doing live, and I love seeing how a song that people already know can create a shared experience between performer and audience.
From the age of 21 to 25, alongside performing, I have worked as a piano and singing teacher. Teaching has allowed me to deepen my understanding of music while also learning how to communicate, adapt and connect with different people. However, performing has always been what I enjoy most in the world.
Now that I have moved to Manchester, my goal is to continue developing as an artist and to build a life around music. I would love to bring a little piece of my Spanish and Basque background to the city, while also becoming part of its diverse and vibrant music community.
