Hussain Brothers Qawwali Group are an internationally acclaimed UK-based Qawwali group, proudly upholding a 900-year-old legacy. Led by Ashaz Hussain, the UK’s youngest leading Qawwal, the group is renowned for delivering spiritually uplifting and soul-stirring performances. Their lineage traces back to some of the most iconic names in South Asian musical heritage, including Ustad Tufail Ahmed, Ustad Qurban Hussain, and Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan — the latter of whom taught legendary figures such as music director Naushad Ali and the Sabri Brothers. This profound heritage, passed down over generations, gives the group an unmatched depth and authenticity in their performances. At the heart of their repertoire lies the timeless kalaam of great Sufi saints, with their rendition of “Mera Piya Ghar Aaya” standing out as a fan-favourite. Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We’ve been honoured to perform at a wide range of venues both in the UK and internationally — from prestigious locations like the Burj Al Arab to large-scale events like Trafalgar Square in London. We’ve also performed at countless weddings, mehfils, and spiritual gatherings across the UK and worldwide, bringing the soul of Qawwali to every kind of audience.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Our music is deeply inspired by our 900-year-old family legacy, passed down through generations from legendary forefathers such as Ustad Tufail Ahmed, Ustad Qurban Hussain, and Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan. Our ancestors composed "Mera PIya Ghar Aaya" and we hold that very dearly.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we offer flexible line-up options depending on your event and budget. You can book: Full Ensemble – All vocalists, harmonium players, tabla/dholak, and chorus Mid-Size Group – Lead vocals with harmonium and percussion Small Group – Smaller setup for private or low-key gatherings

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We understand that event timings can shift! Just let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate the changes. Minor adjustments are usually fine, but significant changes may affect availability or require an updated agreement.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we can play background music before, between, and after our sets upon request. Just let us know your preferred playlist or vibe, and we’ll handle the rest, we provide this for an additional £100. This is a great way to keep the atmosphere flowing smoothly.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually need 45 minutes to 1 hour to set up and soundcheck before the performance. We'll arrive in advance to ensure everything runs smoothly and is ready before guests arrive.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No, we perform seated in a traditional Qawwali style. This setup helps us maintain the musical quality, coordination, and spiritual atmosphere that Qawwali is known for.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes! You’re welcome to choose your favourite Qawwalis from our set list. We’ll do our best to include them and can also guide you on what works best for your event style and timing.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We include a full PA system (sound setup) in our quote. However, lighting is not included. We also require a minimum 4x2 metre stage area for our seated setup to ensure proper spacing and sound quality.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you.
