The Humphrey-Kabakov Duo are a sophisticated saxophone and piano duo based in London, blending technical excellence with a vibrant, modern sound. With extensive individual achievements and deep roots in the city's jazz scene, they create unforgettable musical experiences for a variety of events. Daniel Kabakov is a versatile jazz pianist trained at Humber College (Toronto, Canada), where he learned from luminaries such as Steve Grossman and Pat LaBarbera. Since relocating to the UK, he has held the piano chair in the Durham University Jazz Orchestra and participated in the prestigious Tomorrow's Warriors program, connecting with London’s new wave of jazz talent. Daniel’s percussive approach to piano, Afrobeat-inspired comping, and modern improvisational style—shaped by influences like McCoy Tyner—have been showcased at venues such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Colour Factory, and Jazztrain Shoreditch. He also performs regularly with projects spanning jazz fusion, Afrofunk, and alt-pop while appearing at the city’s top jam sessions, including Upstairs at the Ritzy and Troy Bar. Teddy Humphrey, a saxophonist with over 16 years of experience, has performed on renowned stages, including Ronnie Scott’s, the Montreux Jazz Festival, and the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room. Once a student of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, his sound draws from jazz greats like Brecker and Coltrane, blended with bluesy inspiration from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Derek Trucks. As a keen player on London’s jam scene, Teddy regularly collaborates with leading musicians, continuing to captivate audiences across diverse venues. Together, they bring a versatile repertoire and polished professionalism, perfect for creating a sophisticated and energetic atmosphere at private functions, corporate events, and more.
