Having played in a band for many years myself, I was incredibly fussy when it came to booking a band for our wedding. I am so glad that I went with House of Chords! Before the big day, the band allocated time to chat about the little details of the day with us. Everything from what we wanted them to wear to which songs we would and wouldn’t like them to play. Their performance at the wedding was incredible. Everyone was on the dance floor absolutely loving them! I cannot thank these guys enough for the superb performance and their utter professionalism from the moment of booking. You made our wedding even more perfect.

A huge thank you to you all for the performance and way you conducted yourselves throughout the day. Too many of the artists I have encountered over the years are so full of their own importance I wouldn’t give them a second look, regardless of their supposed status. So it is very much appreciated and acknowledged that there are some genuinely nice and friendly people out there who are also talented. I have spoken to numerous guests and Trustees since the ball, and no-one has anything negative to say about you guys…again! The event is successful down to teamwork and you guys have certainly been a massive part of that team for two years. Once again I was staggered that from 30 seconds in to your two hour plus set the dance floor was heaving and most definitely bouncing. A personal thank you from me and from all at the Stan Bowley Trust and any future bookings you have or have yet to be confirmed are in for a treat….

From the moment we first sent our enquiry to after the event I have been impressed by the professionalism of these guys. They were happy to accommodate requests outside of their repertoire (for a small extra fee) and were very useful in helping to plan timings. The guys were flexible on the day when timings slipped and made our wedding much more special. We booked two of the guys to play acoustic songs during the arrival drinks and the full band and DJ throughout the evening. Their ability is fantastic, great value and offer fantastic customer experience. I have recommended them for a friend’s wedding and will continue to do so!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We put on an exciting and professional live gig experience and our clients love to be up and rocking the dance floor!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at hundreds of weddings & parties at UK venues such as: Shustoke Farm Barns South Farm The Mill Barns The West Mill Ashes Barn Hanbury Wedding Barn Foxtail Barns Heaton Farm Shottle Hall Deer Park Hall Mythe Barn Elmore Court Currandine Barns Ashton lodge Thorpe Garden Bourton Hall Lapstone Barn Brinsop Court & Pendrell Hall to name a few

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

From pop tunes, rock n roll and Motown to 'naughties' indie-disco floor fillers and beyond, we perform authentic versions of classic tracks by artists such as The Killers, Blur & Sam Fender through to Paul Simon, The Jam & Wham!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We have performed at hundreds of wedding and countless corporate events & parties/fundraisers over the years, for companies including Marie Curie, Boots & Renault to name a few.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Our lead singer (Andy) is ever present in the band but if for any reason he was unable to perform at your event, we would make you aware of this ASAP. We do however have 'dep' singers of the same high standard to call upon in an emergency.

Do you have different line-up options?

We are a four piece band (Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboard, Lead Singer and 3 Backing Vocalists).

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

This usually won't be a problem so just let us know!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We provide a free iPod/DJ service with every booking so there is always music playing through our system before, in between and after our live sets until midnight a standard. This is ran through a MacBook Pro and we will also take requests if possible, make any announcements needed and cross fade the tracks so there are no awkward gaps!

How much time do you need to set up?

We can be set up and sound checked in 60-90 minutes. This varies from gig to gig and venue to venue depending on access and other timings across your event, but we always make it work! For venues we play at regularly, we have the settings saved on our mixing desk from previous visits so our sound checks can take as little as 5 minutes once we're set up!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Putting together a great set list is something of a dark art we find, so it's vital we always customise this around your tastes to match the vibe you are after! We find it is best if you choose a good 10-15 of your favourite songs we play (and also any no's!) and then we'll do the rest! We're always happy to go through this in finer detail nearer the time!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We bring all our own high quality equipment with us to every booking. We use a powerful HK Audio PA system suitable for up to 250 guests and have an 18 unit digitally controlled lighting set up. All our equipment is fully PAT tested annually.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We are always willing to learn a new song for your event, such as for a first dance. We normally ask for an additional fee of £50 to arrange and rehearse this, unless it is a song we have played before (but don't advertise on our repertoire). Also, if we feel it might be a song we would add to our repertoire anyway, there would be no extra fee!
