I am a 21 year old professional music graduate from the University of Southampton. I have many years experience playing in Jazz and Pop and musical theatre pit bands, as well as classical percussion in a more orchestral setting. I am able to sight read to a high standard and improvise around a lead sheet. I am also skilled in arranging music.
I have recently started teaching as peripatetic instructor in the drum kit, my rates are standard and I am able travel to students houses or make alternative arrangements such as using a professional music studio. I have a real passion for teaching and passing on my skills to other people, whether they are 7 or 77 years old! I would love to get more girls into drumming and am already succeeding as over half of my current students are female.
Aswell as teaching, I love performing and have countless experience of gigging in real world function situations along with many performances on stage with bands, (Lost or Stolen, ChaWk and Efiada being my main focuses). My greatest achievements as a performer are headlining the Share the Sound festival in Southampton for 2 consecutive years with Lost or Stolen (2017) and ChaWk (2018). I have also performed twice at the Montreux Jazz Festival and will be performing in the main support act (Efiada) for Stompin on the Quomps 2018. Amongst all of this, I am immensely proud of achieving a first class grade in my final performance for my degree as a soloist and also with both my assessed ensembles!
I look forward to the coming years and to see where music will take me on my journey as a professional musician.
