Hingin' By A Threed was formed a number of years ago by like minded musicians just wanting to get together to make good music and have fun. The band has been in its present format since August 2016 and enjoys playing music from Scotland, Ireland and America including jigs, reels and slow airs. They have recently introduced some Bluegrass numbers into the repertoire, along with some movie themes, making an eclectic mix of music interesting for themselves and their audience. The Threeds regularly play in local pubs, folk clubs and for the Buzzworks chain of restaurants. They were delighted to perform at the Tarbert Music Festival last year, and looking forward to performing this year at Doonfest. They plan to travel to other festivals and look forward to more floor spots and jam sessions.

I have heard Hingin’ by a Threed on several occasions at Largs Folk Nights, and they are always a popular band. Their own unique style and interpretation of traditional Scottish and Irish music is not only lively, toe tapping and entertaining, but is guaranteed to bring a smile to the faces of their audiences. All are highly skilled, proficient musicians and their own enjoyment in performing draws you in.

I'm delighted that the band have been playing in my bar for some months. They play a varied selection of acoustic tunes and songs, such as Irish jigs and reels, Scottish and American folk tunes, Bluegrass numbers and some haunting movie themes. Hingin' by a Threed is always a hit with my clientele.
