Highkey Close Harmony

Formed in 2025, HighKey far exceeds your average student group. We are an energetic and versatile student group singing our own acapella arrangements, courtesy of our music director Thomas, with styles ranging from David Bowie, The Beach Boys and Abba. We have performed concerts across Cambridge Colleges and are hugely looking forward to our May Ball debuts at the prestigious Jesus and St. John’s College May Balls in June 2026. Our arrangement of Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas was noted by the artist himself! HighKey is made up of exceptionally dedicated and hardworking students taken from the world-renowned Clare College Choir. Our day job, Clare Choir commitments include international touring, broadcasting on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and recording professionally produced albums. This we do in addition to all the craziness of student life at Cambridge, with students studying everything from Natural Sciences to English. Our director, Thomas Alban, is a Music student at Clare College, having formerly been a chorister with the King’s College Choir. Thomas is an award-winning composer and arranger, with a glittering list of accolades. He won the Clare College carol competition in 2025 with his winning entry performed in an internationally broadcast advent service. HighKey is well-suited for those who want a reasonably priced, highly polished and fun product. We also offer a special wedding package, where we can perform high-quality and moving religious choral music during the church service, followed by a cracking set-list at your reception.
