Danny and Nia met on the London jazz scene in early 2018. They immediately connected musically and started playing together on a regular basis. They have a quartet, with whom they currently have a weekly residency in South East London. Eventually they decided to start arranging tunes for a duo, thus Henosis was born. Their sound is heavily influenced by the likes of Errol Garner, Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson, Barry Harris, Ray Brown, Neils Pederson, Ron Carter, Oscar Pettiford, Art Tatum, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins to name a few..... They love slow ballads and upbeat swing, they enjoy incorporating elements of calyspo, bossa nova, Afro Cuban, reggae and of course blues in their sound, but primarily they have a huge passion for playing the jazz tradition from the 50s and 60s. Danny is a young and extremely musical pianist, he has only been playing jazz live for a couple of years, and his thirst for knowledge and ability to pick things up is astonishing. He is extremely soulful, his playing being rich both harmonically and rhythmically. He is currently studying under the guidance of master jazz pianist John Turville. A former pupil of Gary Crosby (founder of Tomorrow's Warriors), Michael Janisch (Whirlwind Recordings, MOBO Award Nomination), Vidal Montgomery (Courtney Pine) and Steve Watts (Trinity Laban Conservatoire), among others, Nia has been playing jazz for about four years, leading a number of formations ranging from duos to trios, quartets and quintets. She is a professional gigging musician, she is currently hosting a weekly Latin Jazz jam as well as the weekly gig her and Danny have with their quartet, and on top of that she gigs regularly with a number of other formats (primarily jazz but also some country, some reggae as well as Latin jazz). She is a former member of the Tomorrow's Warriors Female Collective. Danny and Nia are currently honing their composition and arranging skills, hoping to make this the next step in their careers.

I booked Danny and Nia (Henosis), for my retirement party. They travelled up from London to the Midlands, fighting their way through traffic problems and awful weather, but made it to the venue well on time. The music they played was fantastic and perfect for the party. It was light and uplifting. You could tell that everyone enjoyed the music they played, and the atmosphere was buzzing. They clearly wanted to make my function a success, which they duly did. Danny and Nia are two very talented young musicians, as well as being charming, polite, and courteous people. If you want jazz music for your function, then book them. I would fully recommend them. Mark Arjoo.

Henosis are a very professional and entertaining duo. A good jazz repertoire with a few very nice covers of classics thrown in there. Our guests absolutely love them!

Henosis are a fantastic duo and were the perfect choice for The Junction. They played some beautiful slow ballads, some great upbeat tunes and some classics too,  which pleased the crowd.  They were professional and friendly and even took some requests from customers!  I highly recommend this duo both both formal and informal occasions!  Luke Fowler Director  The Junction
