Helena is in her second year of Masters studying at the Royal Academy of Music. In her first year, she was principal in Royal Academy Opera’s performances of Ariadne auf Naxos and Witch, a new opera by Freya Waley-Cohen. She is also a founding member of the Ormonde Ensemble, a London-based wind quintet dedicated to performing repertoire by underrepresented composers. She read Music at Clare College, Cambridge, and sang in Clare College Choir. She began singing at an early age and was a member of Salisbury Cathedral girls’ choir. During her time at Salisbury, she took up the oboe, and joined the National Youth Orchestra aged 14. She achieved her DipABRSM with distinction in 2016, and was principal oboe of NYO in its 2017 season. She was principal of Cambridge University Orchestra and performed Strauss’ oboe concerto in her final year.
