Helen Hurd is a rock vocalist from London, known for Permageddon and Women in Rock. Following her extensive training and work within theatre arts, Helen set-up Permageddon in 2012, tributing the best of 80s hair rock. She has since toured extensively with them, including playing to thousands of people at the popular biker rally, The Bulldog Bash and formally closing the Rugby World Cup 2015 tournament at Twickenham Stadium, where, as well as entertaining the 80,000 game-goers, Permageddon was blasted live on a big screen to the 40,000 people in Trafalgar Square. Helen has also performed at other exclusive music venues including The Bush Hall, Camden Underworld, Boisdale of Canary Wharf and the Hard Rock Cafe, Glasgow. She will be touring across Europe in 2017 with the amazing Back:N:Black girls.
It was through Permageddon that Helen was invited to join Women in Rock, the only live celebration of female rock legends, including Pat Benatar, Heart, Joan Jett, Patti Smith, Alanis Morissette, Halestorm and many others.
Helen has provided lead vocals as part of a duo for Re-Wind 80s a high energy, choreographed show, taking you on a journey through the best of 80s music and supporting 80s legends such as Toyah Willcox, Doctor and the Medics and Chesney Hawkes. She is also working on a new acoustic act, Urban Dixie, a close harmony, all female act, with guitar and violin, covering popular, rock and country songs in a new refreshing style.
She regularly works and guests with other functions and original bands including Still Corners, The London Ska Orchestra, Eden's Curse, Back in the Day, FastFuze, Sega and the Boombox, The Last Of... and Go Tell The Eskimo.
Helen is currently writing her debut EP, set to be released at the end of 2017.
