Highlights: The band was formed in 2008 with the legendary American banjo player Red Mule Jefferson. He came from the hills of California and learned the old songs from his mother and grandmother. In 2015 Woody and Liz co-wrote a song with American folk legend Peggy Seeger. The Hillbillies performed the song with Peggy Seeger at one of her concerts. In 2016 The Hillbillies played at the Cornbury Music festival along with such names as Corrine Bailey Rae, Booker T, and Jamie Cullum.

The Headington Hillbillies were absolutletly brilliant. The music was great, the Caller was great and we had almost everbody up on their feet dancing. Thank you for a wonderful evening

Group arrived on time and were patient while we continued our celebration as it had overrun a little. They were quick to set up and start the music, bride and groom enjoyed their chosen first dance. As a party we felt that some of the music choices, despite having forwarded an a few artists, was a little limited. The calling of the steps for the barn dancing was great fun in the second set and it may be worth considering starting it earlier for more interaction with guests. The bride and groom enjoyed the evening. Many thanks

The whole thing was just great! Communication was great, consideration of our needs was spot on, facing the weather with a smile was superbe! A huge thank you to Howard and team, couldn't have asked for anything more for dad's 80th! Thanks again.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

First and foremost, clients tend to comment about the general atmosphere that we create. The lively and friendly interaction with members of the audience and the professional approach to dealing with the client

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Too many to mention but we have played a wide range of venues including private houses, community halls, outdoor BBQ's, bars and clubs, festival stages

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, The Eagles, J.J.Cale, and many, many others

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

There are two really. The first would be Cornbury Festival along with Corrine Bailey Rae, Jamie Cullum, and Booker T. The second was writing and performing with folk legend Peggy Seeger

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard line-up is a five piece with bass, drums, fiddle/guitar, male and female vocals. The lineup is flexible, from an acoustic duo, trio, or a four piece

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance

Can you roam around while you perform?

The singer/caller has a radio mic and is able to move around the room to demonstrate dance steps

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 4m by 2.5m space to perform

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. if not, it may still be possible by negotiation
