What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I try to be as flexible as I can. Just let me know if any changes in the lead up to the event.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
I can if you like, I've got some cracking playlists.
How much time do you need to set up?
My record for setting up my whole kits from cases to gig ready is 9mins 52secs, but, ideally, about half an hour is enough to have a set up without stress.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
Absolutely, choose whatever songs you like from my extensive song list, and request any that you'd like or warn me of some you'd like to void.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
I do. I have two drum kits for different settings (one smaller one for Jazz and quieter gigs, one bigger one for heavier and louder concerts), with full cymbals set up. I also own a cajon and various bits of percussion for acoustic gigs, as well as kick and snare mics if you'd like a bit more oomph.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
I absolutely can, as long as there is adequate notice. No extra fee, just let me know!
What do your clients love most about your performances?
I'm easy to work with, I learn the songs with great details, and I love what I do!
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
Cambridge, Oxford, Durham, Newcastle, Keele, Royal Holloway Universities, ITV, BBC, Sage Gateshead, St James' Park, Riverside Stadium, Mowden Park, Camden Market, British Army, Houghton Hall, Beamish Hall, Lumley Castle, Tribfest, Newbury Real Ale Festival, Bush Hall, Hilton, Marriott, The Cluny, Middlesborough Theatre, The Garage (Islington), and many more.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
Larnell Lewis, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Steve Gadd, Jojo Mayer, Benny Greb, Jack de Johnette, ?uestlove, Ronnie Vanucci Jr, Chad Smith, Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Matt Helders, Ben Johnston, Mike Portnoy, Sput Searight, Nate Smith.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
At this time of writing (March 2019), it was the Kopycat Killers double whammy of the world's largest tribute festival (Tribfest 2018) in front of 6000 people followed by Newbury Real Ale Festival in front of 10,000 people. www.thekopycatkillers.com
