I am a classical, baroque, folk and klezmer violinist, with a First Class degree in Music from the University of Manchester and plenty of performance experience.
I started learning classical violin at 7 years old, and have since progressed to an advanced level. I have performed with orchestral and chamber ensembles since an early age, and continued this passion at university, where I participated in around ten hours of ensemble playing a week. Whilst at university, I also developed a keen interest in early music, performing for three years with the institution's Baroque Orchestra and in smaller period ensembles with peers. In my second year I studied klezmer violin, achieving a first in our assessed performance, and now play regularly with a klezmer and Balkan ensemble. I also took the opportunity to play in Irish and Scottish folk sessions, something I intend to take further now I have graduated.
I I have plenty of experience performing solo and in small, exposed ensembles and rarely suffer from performance nerves. I am friendly, flexible and happy to negotiate repertoire and performance arrangements to ensure your event is the best it can be. I am happy to take on jobs at short notice.
