Jose Guillermo Arévalos Vigo has a range of playing experience that has taken him around the world, having toured in much of central Europe, performing with the Al Bustan Festival Symphony Orchestra in Lebanon , and holding the position of principal double bass with the UniNorte Opera Company in 2012, National Congress Symphony Orchestra 2014, and Orchestra of the Americas in 2019 amongst others. He is heard playing on the 2019 Orchestra of the Americas album Manuel de Falla, recorded in Mexico City in July 2019 and released on LINN Records. Guillermo has taken part in double bass masterclasses with Catalin Rotaru, Enrico Fagone, Edison Ruiz, Thierry Barbé, Dan Styffe, Caroline Emery, Davide Botto, Mary Scully, Giuseppe Ettorre, Timothy Cobb, Dominic Seldis, and Alberto Bocini. He has also received chamber music coaching from Eduardo Vassallo, Peter Thomas, and Damian Rubido, in addition to taking part in the Irish Chamber Orchestra Academy in 2019. He was also accepted onto the 2020 and 2021 summer course Accademia Chigiana with Giusseppe Ettorre. Furthermore, he has participated in the double bass camp in Perpignan- France 2021. He has been working as a freelancer playing regularly with orchestras in London and Birmingham and the year of 2016 he had been selected to take part in the orchestral scheme programme with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
