Performing as a duo to 7-piece, Groove Cortex is a collective of Cambridge and London based musicians who aim to celebrate jazz, funk and soul with an eclectic and electrifying circuit of grooves from 60's & 70's jazz funk, Freddie Hubbard, Chick Corea, Average White Band, JTQ, the mellow bluesy Nina Simone, the chilled looseness of New Orleans inspired pop classics (Sweet Dreams, Faith, I Want You Back), the soulful sounds of Gil Scott-Heron, Stevie Wonder and Amy Winehouse, to the hard funky grooves of James Brown.
