Grigoris Ioannou is a highly gifted 20 year old pianist who has enjoyed considerable success both at piano competitions and on the concert platform throughout Europe. He has given a number of solo recitals and concerts in Greece, France, England, Belgium, Italy and Russia, having appeared in concert venues such as the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall and St. Mary Abbots Church in London, Cesar Franck Auditorium in Paris, Kastel d'Ursel in Antwerp, A. Scriabin House-Museum and Suvalov Hall in Moscow and the "Megaron" Athens Concert Hall in Athens. Among the highlights of Grigoris' career so far has been a critically acclaimed performance of W. A Mozart’s Piano Concerto no 20, K. 466 with the Athens State Orchestra, for which he received glowing reviews from the Athens press for his dexterity and stage presence. Grigoris has also collaborated with the Sinfonietta Orchestra of Athens in multiple occasions, performing piano concertos by Mozart and Bach. In addition to a number of national piano competition successes during his youth, Grigoris most recently won 2nd Prize in the “Francesco Moscato” International Piano Competition 2015 in Airola, Italy. He has also been repeatedly interviewed by the Greek media, has recorded solo piano works for the Greek National Radio Channel in two occasions and has appeared in National Television as part of a collaborative project. He has participated many piano masterclasses in Greece and abroad with professors such as Aquiles Delle Vigne, Lilia Boyadjieva, Igor Petrin and Yuri Bogdanov among many others. Grigoris Ioannou has graduated with distinction from the Schola Cantorum of Paris(Diplome Superieur) and the Hellenic Conservatory (Piano Soloist Diploma with the conservatory's highest honours and an honorary Gold Medal) with Prof. Agathe Leimoni. He is also a graduate of the Ilion Music School where he studied piano with Prof. Irene Laliotou. Currently, Grigoris is in the third year of the BMus in Piano Performance course at the Royal College of Music in London, with Prof. Ian Jones. His studies are supported by an Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Scholarship, awarded as a result of his entry audition performance.
