London

Gregorio is a trumpet player currently living and freelancing in London. Gregorio started playing trumpet in the local village wind band at the age of 6. Later he graduated at the Music Conservatoire "J. Tomadini" in Udine, Italy. In September 2015 he moved to London to start the BMus Programme at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance; he also studied Jazz Trumpet with the renowned jazz trumpet player Steve Waterman. Since 2017 Gregorio has been studying with world famous trumpet player and clinician Paul Mayes and he is especially interested in Paul’s scientific approach which brings physics, physiology and design together in a unique and innovative way. As a classical trained trumpet player he particularly enjoys playing in symphony orchestras and he has performed at the most iconic venues in London such as Cadogan Hall, St John Smith Square,... He also performed with wind bands, chamber groups, brass ensembles, big bands, musical theatre orchestras, brass bands, function bands and period orchestras. In august 2017 Gregorio performed with the Jeune Orchestre Europeen Hector Berlioz at the Berlioz Festival (France), playing side by side with the soloist of the french orchestra 'Les Siecles' and the conductor François-Xavier Roth. Gregorio enjoys playing many different genres of music: he is always very keen in discovering and learning new genres of music. Gregorio attended masterclasses with the finest trumpet players and educators: Paul Mayes, Tom Hooten (Los Angeles Philharmonic), Alan Thomas (BBC Symphony Orchestra), Sergio Carolino, Jamie Prophet (BBC Philharmonic Orchestra), to name a few. He enjoys working with a vast array of conductors such as Francois-Xavier Roth, Timothy Redmond, Gerry Cornelius, Martin André, Alexander Walker, Adrian Brown,... When not practising you can find him DJing, teaching or producing his own music. Gregorio's studies at TLCMD had been generously supported by a grant from The Henry Wood Accomodation Trust Fund.
