Gordon Robertson is one of Scotland's finest and most versatile vocalists, with over 11 years experience as a performer at corporate events, weddings, parties, music venues, festivals and tribute nights. He is in high demand throughout the UK, having played over 80 gigs in the last 12 months, and he always impresses with his ability to entertain and involve an audience from the outset, regardless of the event or style of music. His first main act is as a vocalist playing acoustic guitar, and performing a selection of hits and floor-fillers from the 50s right through to the present day chart toppers. Some of these can also be accompanied by professional quality backing tracks to fill out the sound spectrum where appropriate, but the acoustic show is equally entertaining on it's own. This makes it a very adaptable show, to fit venues big and small, and suit parties of 10 or 200! Gordon specialises in his ability to capture the nuances of each of the large variety of vocal styles that he performs, and yet still leave a flavour of his own personality too. His long list of vocal training qualifications and years of experience perfecting his vocal technique allow him the versatility to sing a big hitting Rock ballad, and then follow that up with a soft and understated jazz standard, or a Motown hit. Most importantly, as a seasoned wedding band front-man, Gordon understands the set-list required to fill a dance floor and keep it that way. The second act that Gordon provides is as one of the UK's most authentic Michael Bublé Tribute Artists. Unlike many other 'sung-only' tribute acts, Gordon really becomes Bublé for the duration of the performance, including all of the charisma, charm and chat that you'd expect to hear at one of the Canadian Crooner's arena shows, in his native Canadian accent. This always involves lots of audience interaction and participation, perfect for making a fuss of those celebrating an engagement, hen-do, birthday or anniversary! And of course, Gordon's ability to mimic Bublé's velvet voice, and produce the exciting vocals at the high end of the big-band numbers or the Pop tunes that Bublé writes really does allow audiences to suspend their disbelief and join Michael in having a blast at each and every gig. Gordon also offers a non-tribute Cabaret show which is perfect for social clubs and hotel entertainment both in the UK and abroad, and also has experience providing a 'singing telegram' or 'singagram' service, specially learning songs to surprise that loved one in restaurants, bars, or basically anywhere! Finally, at all gigs (except singing telegram), he offers a full professional quality PA system and lighting at no extra cost, with iPod/phone connectivity to play music chosen by clients for starts/ends/breaks. He can also for an extra fee provide a DJ service to accompany any of his acts and complete a night's entertainment. For a performer who, whatever the act, whatever the event, will give the finest of vocal performances, and leave any crowd shouting for more, your really need look no further than Gordon Robertson.

Gordon recently performed at our wedding as well as providing a DJ set in the evening. Gordon was brilliant throughout the day and helped set a really happy and upbeat tone for the drinks reception. He provided us with a long list of songs to choose from as well as playing a few specific requests that we had. He played 3x 45 sets, two at drinks and one after dinner and had some great crowd interaction and got people dancing. The DJ set was brilliant and we have had people comment on how good the music was and the sound quality too! He was able to take numerous requests as people got more drunk (bride and groom included) and was great banter throughout. Would highly recommend. Adam

Gordon sang at our wedding on Friday there, and he was absolutely fantastic. He has the most wonderful voice, varied setlist (which he very kindly expanded for us) and kind/gentle manner. In particular I want to thank him for the stunning rendition he did for our first dance. I feel bands sometimes struggle to do justice to first dance songs, as it may not suit their voice. Gordon hit every high with ease and grace. Thank you very much Gordon, it was our pleasure to have you there

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem. Happy to be flexible and discuss the changes, so don't worry!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yup, this is a really popular request, and I offer this service as standard free of charge. I do also have a DJ option that I can supply at a small extra fee for after my performance

How much time do you need to set up?

I like to have 1 hour, but realistically I can get it all done in about 45 minutes. It depends how easy the load-in to your venue is, but I've never encountered a venue where it added more than about 15 minutes onto the overall set-up time.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Generally, I don't recommend to clients that they hand-pick the entire set, for the simple reason that my set lists are tried, tested and proven to work well - they fill the dance-floor and have something for most people's tastes. That said, please do let me know your favourite genres, and if you have some requests, of course I'll include them where possible

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yup, I'm fully self-contained. All I need is power!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

As above, I usually will include a song or two as requests for an event wherever possible. And for weddings I learn ceremony/first dancs requests as standard.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The compliments I receive most often at gigs are about the quality of my voice, my choice of set-list/songs, and my engagement or interaction with the guests.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Everywhere from Hillsborough Stadium, to the SECC in Glasgow. Many big hotel groups like Radisson Blu, Hilton, Village Hotels, Dakota Hotels and more. Also a whole host of pubs, bars, restaurants and live music venues including King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Audio, Stereo, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, and the NEC Arena in Birmingham.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Michael Bublé Ed Sheeran Jason Mraz Queen Frank Sinatra Tony Bennett Ella Fitzgerald John Owen Jones Samantha Barks Jeremy Jordan Bruno Mars

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I played at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall which is one of Glasgow's largest live music venues. I also played at the Scottish SME Awards, and the Made in Scotland Awards, as well as for a huge building and construction industry event at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.
