As a performer, my career has taken me around the world playing with artists such as Chaka Khan, Hugh Masekela, Russell Watson, Alexander O'Neal, Heatwave, Imagination, Kenny Thomas, Alison Limerick, Suzi Quatro etc, as well as newer acts such as Imogen Heap and Psapp. As a successful in-house producer/writer for UMPG, I have credits with companies such as Universal, Warners, EMI, Armada, Black Hole and BMG to name a few. As well as the usual pop, dance and indy styles that are standard fare, my compositional styles take in classical (orchestral and smaller ensembles as well as solo piano, violin etc), minimal and more experimental electronic music for feature films, advertising jingles and TV series for international TV and cable companies including MTV, NBC, BBC, ITV & Channel 4 etc. As a die-hard electronic music fan who likes to keep an eye on the future, I'm active in the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) arena under a number of guises and have been involved in releases by some of the industry's best, including Stonebridge, Fedde le Grande, Housequake, Tiesto and Armin van Buuren.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The high energy and level of performance. I pay great attention to the quality of my keyboard sounds which can make or break the sound of a band. Crowds also love my bands' abilities to jam - where we go off mid-performance (James Brown style) into an improvised section which involves the crowd. Very few bands do this well.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Within reason I can be flexible. Timings will be included in my contract and we can discuss all of these before you make the booking. If I'm booked to play until midnight, then 00:15 or even 00:30 is workable. If you decide to change on the spur of the moment to 03:00 and want me to keep playing, then an addition negotiation will need to happen on the night.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes - an iPod playlist.

How much time do you need to set up?

Depending on the size of band you want and PA system, anything from 1/2 hour (solo keyboard) to a couple of hours with full band and PA rig.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

If it is in tune and well-kept, odds are that yes, I'll be happy to play it.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, that's what the playlist is for ;-)

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes. One song is free (e.g. for a first dance etc), thereafter a fee will be negotiable which will pay for rehearsals to learn your songs. For solo/duo work the fees are relatively low, but with a full band this can escalate, so it's best to pick me because you already like my playlist :-)
