Glen Kelly is an award-winning Scottish bagpiper who has been playing since the age of eight and now performs full time as a professional musician. Born and raised in Dundee, Glen developed a love for the pipes at a young age, drawn to both their powerful sound and the deep sense of tradition behind them. That passion quickly grew into a serious commitment, supported from the very beginning by his family, particularly his granny, who remains his biggest supporter and inspiration. From an early age, Glen was involved in competitive piping, which helped shape his musical discipline and technical ability. He has competed at major championships including the UK Pipe Band Championships in Belfast and the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, gaining valuable experience performing under pressure and alongside some of the best pipers in the world. This competitive background laid strong foundations for his later work as a professional performer. Alongside competition success, Glen built an extensive performance career, working across a wide range of events and settings. He has performed for local, national, and international clients, appearing at weddings, funerals, corporate events, private functions, and public occasions. His work has taken him to high-profile venues such as Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland, as well as onto UK and international television, including appearances on programmes such as Salvage Hunters. Now based in London, Glen continues to cover bookings across Scotland as well as throughout England and further afield. He has over eight years’ experience providing bagpiping as a professional service and is known for being reliable, well presented, and easy to work with. Whether performing at an intimate family occasion or a large formal event, Glen takes pride in delivering piping that is appropriate, respectful, and musically polished. Glen’s repertoire spans traditional marches, laments, and more uplifting pieces, allowing him to shape the atmosphere to suit each occasion. He is always happy to discuss musical choices in advance and tailor his performance to fit the tone and structure of an event, ensuring the music enhances the moment rather than overpowering it. What sets Glen apart is not only his experience and technical ability, but also his genuine love for the instrument and the role it plays in marking life’s most important moments. He approaches every booking with care and professionalism, understanding the significance of the occasions he is asked to perform at. Whether providing a quiet moment of reflection or a bold ceremonial presence, Glen’s aim is always the same: to deliver high-quality Scottish piping that leaves a lasting impression.

Glen helped make our wedding a special day. We booked Glen up a year in advance and his professionalism was instant. Glen's repertoire of traditional pipe music is vast. He knew all of the songs we wanted and worked really well with our schedule, knowing when to play a particular song that was special to us (including Star Wars). What was even better for us was just how friendly Glen is. He was instantly popular with the congregation and he spent time after the service to mingle with people and to be one of our guests. Thank you Glen, people will be lucky to have you for their events, we will definitely be in touch again in the future, that is if you do not become too busy!

I hired Glen to play at my daughter’s wedding in April, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with him. Before the actual day, he came to the house to ask exactly what it was that we were looking for and was very helpful with suggestions. On the big day, he did everything we had wanted and even played for a bit longer as guests were still milling about. All our guests especially those from England were thrilled. Glen is very nice, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
