Ginga Gringa is an authentic Bossa Nova duo. Our repertoire blends classic tunes and original compositions in Brazilian Portuguese and English. Rooted in the soft samba rhythms of Brazil and jazz influences, Bossa Nova's captivating charm exudes cultural richness. You may recognize favorites like 'Garota de Ipanema' (Girl from Ipanema) and 'Wave,' crafted by master Antônio Carlos Jobim and covered by artists like Frank Sinatra. Our vocalist, a Rio de Janeiro native, brings five years of professional singing experience and our guitarist's love for Bossa Nova was kindled during his time in Brazil. Our aim is to share Brazil's beauty through music.

I had the pleasure of hosting an unforgettable birthday celebration, and the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the mesmerizing performance by the incredible Bossa Nova duo. Their music brought an air of sophistication and charm that elevated the entire event to new heights. Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We are considering expanding into a full jazz band but nothing is settled yet.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We will do our utmost to ensure your night is still a success. We can often adapt to your needs depending on circumstances.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We have a Bossa Nova inspired playlist that you can play through your speakers during our interval.

How much time do you need to set up?

It depends on whether PA is provided or not. If so all we'll need is a quick 10 minutes soundcheck, and we're good to go. otherwise we'll have to set up ourselves and that can take up to 30 minutes. We will generally arrive at the event earlier in case of any issues to ensure things will run smoothly and in time.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Our vocalist has an excellent stage presence and she'll go as far as her mic cable allows her.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

If our setlist is larger than your performance length we'll be more than happy to work with you to ensure you are happy with the list.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Equipment can be included for an extra fee; just let us know what you need

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Certainly, we gladly take up to 2 song requests which will be performed in Bossa Nova style. There is a fee of £25 per song for this service to take into account rehearsal times
