Giardino Strings is a distinguished ensemble composed of highly regarded professional musicians who have played extensively in concert halls across Europe. What could be more special, more memorable, and more stylish than to have some of London’s finest string players perform at your event? And what could be more unforgettable than to have the music you love performed in such a way that you and your guests will leave feeling enchanted? The group specialises in professional music engagements, weddings, corporate and Bollywood events, parties and Jewish celebrations including Bar Mitzvahs and weddings. The group is especially versatile and can perform as a: • solo • duo • trio • quartet • quintet • sextet • octet or •chamber orchestra depending on your request or budget requirements. The group’s repertoire of strings arrangements is the largest in the UK ranging from classical to jazz, pop, soul, Bollywood, folk, Jewish and Israeli. The group can also arrange your favourite playlists to be performed at your special event if not already in their extensive collection. Giardino Strings comprises only the finest players currently active on the London music scene, all of whom have graduated from some of the world’s finest conservatoires (London’s Royal Academy and Royal College, to name just two), and all of whom are vibrant, creative artists in their own right. High-profile clients of the group to-date include: • HRH The Queen • Sir Evelyn Robert Adrian de Rothschild • Michael Abraham Levy • Baron Levy and venues at which Giardino Strings have performed include: • The Parliament • The Grosvenor • The Dorchester • Claridges • The Gibson Hall • Eltham Palace • Kew Gardens • The Savoy • The Lansdowne Club and recently • RAAS Devigarh in Udaipur. Giardino Booking Agency was established in 2010 to support the burgeoning Giardino String groups and is now an established organisation specialising in a wide range of musical acts such as harpists, function bands, opera singers, Chazan, solo musicians, magicians and speciality acts. The agency offers a wide range of packages and planning support for all musical accompaniments that are required for your special event. The agency will work with you to ensure that every detail from arrangement and amplification to seating and costume is to your specification to provide a tailored and seamless musical experience for any occasion. If you’re looking for punctual and non-fuss performers, as well as technically flawless performances that give you and your guests the ‘wow’ factor, then Giardino Strings has a proven track record of impressing clients time and time again (see our Encore reviews). Get in touch now to discuss your ideas and requirements! As well as the traditional string quartet, we also offer: STRING DUO A traditionally harmonious paring for smaller spaces or smaller budgets, the Classical String Duo is an elegant reduction of our quartet ideal for proposals, rehearsal dinners, cocktail parties, restaurants, champagne receptions and of course weddings. The Classical String Duo are most appropriate for quieter, more reserved settings though they are still loud enough to play over a noisy gathering or a windy garden party. While specialising in traditionally classical music the Duo also have a strong Jewish repertoire with Israeli dancing as well as Bollywood music. As with our other groups, the Duo are also able to rehearse and perform any requests for your special event – we always love a challenge! The Duo are ideal for weddings as they can fit into smaller spaces for the service, can play outdoors during the photographs to keep your guests entertained, and take no time to set up at the reception before your guests begin to arrive. Many of our wedding packages are designed with continuity and ease in mind so please see the ‘Wedding Entertainment’ page for more options. Design your own pair! Whether you want two violins, a violin and a cello, a violin and a harp, the Strings Duo option is fully flexible according to your requirements. Our Duo will dress to brief and can master your favourite playlist no matter the content! STRING TRIO The additional instrument makes the Trio a more rousing, profound sound compared to our delicate duo or majestic classical string quartet. The Classical String Trio arrangement is still able to perform in smaller spaces and retains the flexibility of a Classical String Duo which is ideal for weddings, receptions, garden parties or corporate events. While specialising in traditionally classical music the Trio also have a strong Jewish music repertoire with Israeli dancing as well as Bollywood and popular music. As with our other groups, the Trio are also able to rehearse and perform any requests for your special event – we always love a challenge! Design your own Trio! Whether you want the traditional violin, viola and cello amalgamation or an alternative arrangement our Strings Trio option is fully flexible whatever your desired combination. Our Trio will dress to brief and can master your favourite playlist no matter the content!

The string duo were absolutely fantastic, they played our requested songs down for the bride to walk down the aisle and after we got married. They also played for us during our champagne reception. All of our guests remarked how amazing they were so thank you. However, there were a few constructive points to mention. The communication was not great. We often sent messages to confirm arrangements and either got brief responses or none at all. When you are trying to plan a wedding, this doesn't ease the stress of the big day and part of us wondered whether they would turn up! We didn't speak to them on the phone either and weren't offered a call. Perhaps the next point could have been remedied if we'd had more communication but we booked the duo to play for our ceremony and the champagne reception. Half way through the musicians packed up and we had to get the venue staff to go and get them to come back. This was really disappointing and we had guests asking why the music had suddenly stopped! We don't know whether there was a mix up or not...

Giardino Strings performed in our wedding ceremony at The Old Marylebone Town Hall. They were MAGICAL and created such a beautiful atmosphere with their music. All of our requested songs were played (their repertoire is endless which just shows how talented they all are) with such skill, and all of our guests commented on how amazing they were. Thank you will never be enough, they are hands down the BEST quartet with the most talented musicians, in the country.

Giardino strings played at our wedding ceremony and following reception. They were absolutely outstanding and we were very happy we booked them. Our guests also commented how much they added to the festivities and atmosphere. They had a huge repertoire and played songs other companies would charge extra to learn. You could also tell that they were not just doing a job, but really appreciated that they were playing at a wedding, which was very nice. They also seemed very passionate about the music they played. We would definitely recommend them to anyone considering string music.

Giardino Strings were fantastic. We used them for our garden wedding and they were one of the main focal points for guests to watch and enjoy. Their choice of music hit the tone of the day perfectly and they were able to learn some music I had requested. I can not rate them highly enough.

"An absolutely delightful team. We hired the string quartet for our registry and reception. They played flawlessly and beautifully. Their music really added that spark of magic to the ceremony. David and the team took all of our requests - from what we needed them to play, what room they needed to move to, what alterations we required in the songs arrangement etc. They arrived on time, dressed to perfection. They took the time to congratulate us on the wedding. They took part in some of the fun of the wedding too, which was really nice to see. They played such a key part of the wedding, I wish we could do it all over again."

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Classical String Quartet - 2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello. Classical String Trio - 2 violins, 1 cello. Classical String Duo: violin & cello OR 2 violins. Solo violinist.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let us know.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. If a PA is booked, as soon as it is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests enjoy the music and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! We provide music and music stands to play acoustically. A set of armless chairs should be set up for us by the venue manager.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Perhaps the energy we put in each piece that we play? We are all professional musicians and tremendously enjoy performing classical to pop songs. We update our repertoire on a monthly basis, so be sure to ask for our updated list of pop covers!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The group has been established since 2000. We have performed at all the London's major hotels including The Landmark, The Dorchester, Grosvenor House, Claridges, The Savoy, Hiltons, Sofitel, Novotel, Marriott, Meridian Grand, The Willows, and many more... We also cover the whole of the South East and South West of England but we also operate Nationwide.

The most influential classical string quartet was the Alban Berg! Among the pop stars, we love Two Cellos, The Piano Guys, Tina Guo, David Garrett, Vanessa Mae, Bond String Quartet, Escala Quartet and Vitamin String Quartet. We have made transcriptions of some of the most popular arrangements of these great artists on clients' requests.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
